Tony M Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I was planning on waiting until we were more settled in the new house and some basic landscaping was completed before hosting a gtg... BUT, I received an email from Aslan to say he was delivering some speakers to a lucky SA SNA member on the weekend of 19/20 December. If there is enough interest he will also bring his new R3's and music server to demo to the locals at a gtg at our place at Hahndorf on the Sunday. We get back from a cruise the day before and Mondie and Andy are also away until the Saturday. So, organization will be a bit "last minute" But if there's enough interest , Mondie is happy to let his TAD's attend as a "support act". That would need some hefty blokes to help with the transportation as they weigh 250KG each. If anyone has a low-slung traytop ute, that would be great. Otherwise, our 4WD ute might be OK. One plan is for the "helpers" to arrive early on Sunday to relocate the TAD's in time for the gtg. Wow, R3's and TAD's - sounds like a great afternoon to me.....hope we can make it happen:D Well, that's all the planning I'm capable of ATM. Looking forward to your ideas. Cheers Tony
Jake Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Bloody hell, you pie-floating, beer-swilling, dump-crazed hifi junkies down there dont do things by halves do you! Sounds like it could be a ripper of a gig Tony. Cheers, Jake

Leon Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Heather and I will be arriving in Adelaide on likely the 20th, via Murray Bridge and the SE Freeway I suspect, so right by your place. So there is a good chance we could drop in for a bit, would be great to catch up too! P.S. Tony, Heather asked if it was you that was interested in antiques?!
Chickenism Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Any kind South Australian got a couch or a bit of floorspace for an interstate interloper?
Guest Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I wont miss it for the world (unless travel plans have an unforseen hiccup) - Cant think of a better event to make us feel excited about finishing off the holiday (speaking for me personally) Tony any help I can give I will be more than happy to pitch in. At this stage we plan to get back on the 18th - but I might even try for the 17th as my brother is in town from Perth over that week and Id like to catch him if I can. Onya Tony and Aslan - fantastic event. Hmm just did soe basic calculations on mass versus volume versus age of person versus strenght required versus difficulty of terrain versus and I suspect we need at least 20 SNA members pers speakers to get those TADS MOVED SAFELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 PS Jake will Carmen be up to flying?????????????
Jake Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 PS Jake will Carmen be up to flying????????????? I wish...

Aslan Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Tony and Mondie, I have a customised three wheel trolley to move R1's around. I may be able to strap it to the roof racks so we can shift a TAD of weight around.
Spearmint Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 A Christmas GTG, with some nice toys to boot. Let us not forget the beautiful home and surroundings, plus the first class hospitality. If I wasn't heading off to NZ the following week, I'd been very tempted to attend. Have a fantastic weekend, and don't forget the photos.
seano Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 This is just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tempting..... Hey Andrew.......need a place to camp on the way over to Adelaide? I provide red wine and a place to sleep. You provide R1 demo. Interested?
the.decline Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 hmm.. this is looking good. I may just have to get to Hahndorf that weekend if im not working. GTG and a drive through the Hills all in one day.. heaven!

Sounds perfect for the job AJ. If we can line up 3 volunteers for Sunday morning we should be fine moving the big buggers. Cheers, mondie

Night 1 Wednesday Bathurst, Night Thursday 2 Mildura, lob into town around lunchtime on the Friday for a delivery, then Saturday to move TAD's then set up at Woodstock.
seano Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Sounds like a Plan....I'll have a bit more of a think about coming with you to help steal....ahem....borrow Mondies TAD's for the GTG. Do you think we'd have to take them back after the GTG? Surely you'll have a bit of room in the ute...we could take them to Sunraysia for a little spell over Xmas!!
Grumpy Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Although my boring life is full of nothingness, I won't be able to say Yes for sure just yet Tony-Andrew. Please put me down if there's room , for now.

Gazza, the only acceptable excuse for non attendance is a previous family committment (in which case I will check with Georgina), or death, in which case we will exhume you and prop you up in a corner Irish style and send you off in a fitting manner.
