A Pink Floyd moment

Recommended Posts

Sheds Apart from enjoying the Floyd I was probably pindering how I could get anywhere near the quality of sound at my own house using all the speaker and amps I have collected from the DUMP - you know build my own home made wall of sound our of bits and pieces - something tells me I might struggle - these speakers and system are very good.

Then again perhpas I was dreaming of Salma?

Oye! Get your own dreams, Dump Boy !!

I am not surprised Mondie's system is so good. He's put a lot of time and effort into over the last 12 months and those speakers, in particular, are supposed to be stunning.

P.S. Did you scout around in his garbage to see what he did with his previous speakers.....? Wouldn't mind a set of those....;)

cheers

Sheds I tried getting a few of the lads to help me move them out to the car but we could not budge them - just a TAD heavy.

However not all was lost for my "dump" collecting - on the way to Mondies i did go to the Dump and found a nice BSR tape to tape player/recorder - guessing from 1850's/60's from the looks - in a self contained box/speaker - unfortunately did not play when we plugged it in at Mondies - but I have not given up on it yet.

Also Grumpy provided me the the great magazine from the early 60's which he found in his shed. Tony M and I spent some time drooling over the various articles and pictures of some classic audio gear - I think I eft it at Mondies' hopefully he is still talking to me after all my digs at the Oils:p

And best of all Kensel very generously bought up some "spare" LP's from his collection - a few went to others but I have ended up with some nice LP's to ad to the ever expanding Thiing Museum.

This is similar to the unit I found - Fidelity is the apparent brand with a BSR reel to reel used. Quick reading indicates Fidelity are not "high end" more of your cheap and cheery - but still nice to add to the collection.

Howvere the person who did come along to Mondies with real find appears to have been 4Hecks - I wonder how his opera listening is going????
