simonh Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Seems that some MP3 files play ok and some won't work on my Topfield TF5000PVRt. Are there are any MP3 format requirements or filename issues for the TF5000PVRt? Thanks!
Vermin Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Not that I know of. I've only got 50 or so mp3s on my Toppy and they all play. There is a limit to the number of subdirectories you can have in any one folder (128). Are the ones that don't play encoded with a variable bit rate? V.
morta11 Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 check they aren't actually .wma's they would be unlikely to play
simonh Posted November 7, 2004 Author Posted November 7, 2004 I'm not sure if they've been encoded with variable bit rate (how can i check?), but curiously the files that don't work don't appear to have any bit rate or song duration properties (using windowsxp file properties) - they all play happily under media player though. i have been trying other mp3 files since my original post, and haven't had any other problems. was just unfortunate that the first few files that i selected didn't work. re: WMA post - the files are mp3, but any word on wma support with toppy?
