Guest Naughty1974 Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Hi everyone! We've just bought a new Grundig Lenaro 82 with all the bells and whistles in it - so far - fab TV - the picture quality is great! With the format however (eg, auto format, 4:3, 14:9, 16:9, etc) we're not entirely sure which we should keep it set on - I know that in theory it should be able to view 16:9 but all that does is stretch the picture (on Foxtel Analogue that is). 14:9 seems to be the happy medium in that it doesn't stretch too much to notice. The last couple of days though, a blue thin bar appears on the screen that tells us the format we have set it to, plus some other format info - stays for a few seconds then goes. Not such a pain when it happens once in a while, but annoying when it appears every few minutes...and we'll have had the TV on for hours - haven't decided if it only happens on all channels (free to air via foxtel) or on foxtel channels only What are we doing wrong - is there a setting on the foxtel set up or the TV which we should have it on to stop this, and also, to stop having to manually switch the format of the TV picture? what is the norm for people these days? Thanks for listening, look forward to some replies from you knowledgeable folk!

Similar TV to yours etc etc. I had mine set to Automatic Format. I think from memory the Lenaro has the digital card pre installed, so when watching SDTV you'll get the correct aspect ratio. I'm not sure about Foxtel tho, as I didn't have a Foxtel box connected to my Cinaro. I hope that helps. Regards, Stephen
sparks Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 I have the Grundig Xentia 82 indegrated DTV, I leave the aspect ratio on Auto format also, but when watching foxtel or Video manually set the aspect ratio to 14:9. As for the format bar, I have not had the problem of it popping up continually, I only notice it when changing Digital chanells, perhaps something you should bring up with Grundig. enjoy the new set
Guest Naughty1974 Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 Thanks for your replies - we contacted Grundig today and they seemed to think that it had to do with being left on 14:9 and different formats on Foxtel - eg, changing stations, the difference between ads and the program, etc - every time it changed, it would flash up - not sure that this right, but don't seem to have the problem when it is on autoformat. I guess what I need to find out now is can you adjust Foxtel analogue to display correctly - or do I go with digital? I shall make another post! Thanks again!!
