Right frame size for standalone DivX players

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Currently I don't own a standalone DVD player that can decode

DivX content, but intend to buy one in the near future.

I've been encoding some SD and HD captures to DivX recently.

I'd like to know if its OK to have widescreen content in 720x576

(assuming the player will stretch and letterbox, as in case of DVD)

OR

Should I resize to 16:9 frame size (like 720x404) before encoding.

Also are there any portable (say, the size of a discman) DivX players

available?

Keith
