I am unable to give you an ETA as this will be reliant and may be affected by other means outside the hands of Panasonic (E.g. Quality control etc). The recommended retail price will be $3629.00 I hope this has helped with your query. Regards, Monique Castle Panasonic Australia Just for your Info! Cheers Patrick
rob3827 Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 The recommended retail price will be $3629.00 I hope this has helped with your query. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The UK retail price is £1299.95 (close to $3200) and in Japan Y188,000 (about $2340). Wait until after Christmas and it will probably drop $1000 here! :-)

Spero D. Posted October 6, 2004 Author Posted October 6, 2004 The $3299 was quoted as RRP in the paper. Hmmm.
Paul1503559514 Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 Does anyone know if there is going to be an intermediate model somewhere between the 85H and this big mamma?
Paul1503559514 Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 FYI there won't be an intermediate model between the $1599 rrp E85H and the $3629 rrp 500H in the immediate future.

So I am guessing that that is the RRP. And a stupid move by Panasonic, not putting a DV port on the 85H, so if someone wants a Hard Drive player with a DV port they have to spend $3299. The 85H should have one, as the 55 does.
Charles Tisse Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 Im guessing that even these players can't record a digital signal? Please tell me Im wrong.

What it actually means is it can burn 1 hours worth of VIDEO that has been recorded at the lowest possible quality setting in 57 secconds, which means 1 hour of video equates to only a few hundred megabytes of data which is why the burn is so quick. Hardly rocket science. Danny.

zork Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 Why bother? It still has just one tuner, and it's analog!!!!! For that money I'd rather get a Toppy, or a Windows MCE2005 machine!! At least the Windows machine is expandable and more useful.
