mrtonywony Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 Hi all, I'm receiving all channels fine, but am having a problem with the picture on Channel 7 and Prime (not the signal but the actual picture). It only affects the top-half of the image and does not affect any other channel. The Problem: It looks like the image is subtley fading in and out slightly, maybe 5 or 6 times a second. It is most noticable on "dark" programs such as drama (ie. when the image has white or light colours in it the problem is more difficult to see). My Location: Tugun Receiving signal from: Currumbin STB: NextWave TDR 3190 Viewing: 4:3 or 16:9 letterbox on a 4:3 set Anyone else have this problem? Anyone receiving their DTV off Currumbin and *not* having this problem (look closely! heheh)? :-) My guess is that it is a problem with the Seven feed via Currumbin - that would explain why it is happening to Seven and Prime as they are often showing the same thing... ? cheers, toby.
EvanOnTheGC Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 Absolutely no problem with either Prime or Seven from Currumbin on my system. Evan :->
alanh Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 mrtonywony, If your DVD does not do it, there is too much video signals going to your display from the video card. This type of problem was common on the first DG tech STB. Do a search on HD stbs and particularly on the old site. (if available.) This problem can also be a clamping problem in the TV display circuits. Do you have a pair of horizontal bands moving slowly up and down the screen, most easily seen in dark areas of the picture? The only other possibility, is because both Mt Tamborine and Currumbin are on the same channels you are picking up some of the other signal. I assume your antenna is vertical and the cable connections including the shield are clean and firm. AlanH
