baggygreen Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 I have noticed over the last month with my Panasonic TX-66pw60a that the image on either side is curving concave. Whenever you have a picture with a straight line close to either side it now bends from top to bottom by about 2cm. Is this a picture tube problem or were TV is positioned in the room?
hab01i Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 I have got that telly, maybe ill check it out to see if the same problem exists in my unit.
gaz042 Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 I have a 7 year old Loewe 76cm 4:3, the same thing happened to that set, eventually it was like wiewing the picture through an hour glass. Took it to the service agent and was told it was a problem with "east-west" control ?? They said it was probably a component that needed replacing ?? It eventually turned out to be "dry joints" (broken solder joints) that needed to be resoldered..... Problem fixed. If your set is a wide screen (don't knoiw the models) and you are viewing 4:3 picture, you will get a little picture side distortion. I get it on my (brand new) Panasonic TX76W2090A in 4:3 mode. I have been told that this is normal ?? I'm not an expert, just passing on my experiences and what I have been told. GAZ
