pgreed Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 About a month ago I purchased a Teac 420 for $169 at JB HiFi in Brighton, Melbourne. After connecting it I found channel 7 to be poor quality, other channels were fine. After a couple of hours channel seven was good but channel nine was bad!? I do get good analogue reception in my area (Cheltenham). I even consulted various people about replacing antenna and cables. I decided to retune the unit, and after that was done I found channel two missing completely. After messing about over a 24 hour period experiencing more strange behaviour, I decided to try the " Reset to Factory Defaults" option from the Installation menu. After I did this and retuned, the 420 has been perfect - it has not skipped a beat! It has been fine for over a month now. This option just might help some who are having problems with their 420. (I get good S-Video from the 420 with the SCART to S-Video adapter send to me free of charge by Fabian at Teac support - many thanks.)
