Hi folks,

It's been a while since I've been in the Stereonet forums - nice to re-join such a strong community.

I recently bought a pair of Sony MDR-1000X Noise-Cancelling Headphones. My (naive) assumption was I would be able to use them wireless with my Bluesound Node, just as I do with my smartphone. But then I realised the devil in the detail - that even if I buy the bluetooth dongle available for the Node, it is only a bluetooth *receiver*, not a bluetooth *transmitter*. (Insert swearing here ...)

So ... I'm guessing my best best is to get a device that instead transmits via bluetooth from my amplifier's headphone socket (and my TV headphone socket) to the headphones.

I've heard that low-latency AptX is the best bet, but was wondering:

1. Does anyone have advice on the best bluetooth transmitter to get? I'm thinking up to maybe $150 (less if there's no discernible difference in sound quality). I realise we're more in mid-fi than hi-fi territory here, but looking for something that will preserve as much audio quality as possible. Most of the advice I've found online on this subject isn't from sources I know as being reliable.

2. Has low-latency bluetooth reached the point where it isn't distracting while watching TV? Hoping it's pretty much in sync these days.

By the way, the good news is I'm pretty happy with the Sony headphones regardless. They don't deserve the "five star" sound quality ratings seen in magazines, even when wired up, but I got them on discount and for 1-2 hours' peace they provide in the train each weekday, they've been worth every cent!

I bought a pair of Miccus Bluetooth units from the US (via Amazon) to transmit sound from my Foxtel set-top box up one floor to my preamp - which then powers speakers either side of the TV, via a dedicated stereo amp (speakers are wired - I simply forgot to allow for the interconnect when the house was built  :().

These work superbly - no latency that I can see, whilst watching the TV through the external speakers.  Plus Miccus are excellent, in terms of customer service (if you have any Qs for them).  Email is:  support@miccus.com

I have just checked out the product, very well priced.

I have a cheap Chinese product that works - sound quality is not as good as connection via headphone out.

I also use a Logitech Bluetooth product. It works - about $45.Have not compared quality.
