Guest scumbag Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 (edited) Hello, I'm just wondering if a kind soul has a pair of XLR cables, any length is fine that I can use to try out connecting a direct stream junior to a pass labds amp'. I only have RCA cables at the moment and the DSJ just can't drive the Pass Labs. The XLR outputs on the DWJ are meant to be 6dB louder and the XLR inputs on the Pass Labs are slightly more sensitive so I just need to see if I can get enough power out of the DSJ otherwise I will need to buy some sort of active preamp. I am one the Northside - Clayfield. NOTE that the XLR inputs on the amplifier are quite far apart so the cables will need to be separate or at least have a sizeable split at the ends. Thanks in advance. Edited June 24, 2017 by scumbag

EV Cali Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Hi I have some mic cables that are XLR Male one end female the other. If they are of any use you are welcome to borrow them. I am in The Gap
Guest scumbag Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Robin, I did some testing this morning as I was told that there are jumpers in the X150.5 that can be attached to increase the input sensitivity by 6dB/. I pulled to cover off and attached them and the DAC/preamp is driving the amplifier LOUD. Thanks for the offer though and thanks to everyone who offered advice. I will get myself some proper XLR cables now anyway as this is recommended by PS Audio and it will get me another 6dB which will be freakin LOUD. Mark
