Trouble? Wistron Neweb corp

Noticed today that I have this new ip address  showing up when I scanned my  wifi

Anyone else heard of or have this Wistron neweb corporation  on their computers?

A Google search tells me I'm not alone and this mob is Thailand based

How do I get rid of a  ip address if I need to?

Oh! I did have a 'update' notice earlier  which I  did

Wistron Neweb make WiFi chipsets which are found inside computers/tv set top boxes/media streamers/blue ray players, even some phones etc....

 

So if you haven't connected any new devices to your network recently then it is possible a someone in the area is using your modem/router for internet access

The only way to know what it is would be to disconnect all your wifi devices from the router, then reconnect one at a time until it shows up again on the connected devices list in the modem management GUI....

Sorry l couldnt respond yesterday , not only the WIFI wouldnt work, but l kept losing the internet.

Gave up trying about 2AM.

This morning  it all seems good - for now.
