myskylab Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I`m thinking of updating my tonearm?? the 2 options I`m looking at are the Wand Plus and the Audio Mods Series Five, I`m interested to hear for anyone who has or still does own 1 of these tonearms, the good the bad and the plain old ugly. 1
Happy Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 What do you have now? What's wrong with it?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Happy Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 Rega 303 ,nothing wrong just after more Ah hence either that wand or audiomods for the right effective arm length eh. I went for audiomods and am pretty happy with it but the wand does look interesting. Used to have an rb700 in its place.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1

Got a Wand plus 10.3" for replacing an Ittok on a Linn and have to say , absolutely stunning arm with great setup tools plus brilliant after sales service by Simon.Didn't think the Ittok was up to it with my Dynavector 20x2L and I was proven right with the Wand in another league.Need any advice on the finer points , please feel free to contact me. TD19 Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I owned one of the first Wand Plus 12' tone arms. Very happy with it, a very good arm and, as remarked, great after-sales service. Simon is continually enhancing his tone arms and frequently the upgrades can be retro-fitted. Thoroughly recommended. I have recently sold the 301/Wand combination with great reluctance - too many turntables 1
expat Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 Addicted to Audio sale now on https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/hi-fi/products/design-build-listen-the-wand-9-tonearm https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/hi-fi/products/the-funk-firm-fx3-tonearm-9-inch-din Both of these heavily discounted I went with one of @lovetube Univector tonearms. Have a look at his website or search on SNA http://www.goldenageaudio.com.au/univector-tonearm.html Keith
coleus Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I replaced a modded RB300 with a Wand and won't go back, it's a set and forget wonder. Awesome support and awesome sound, on my ,modded P25. Just waiting on a new mono cart to turn it into a dedicated mono player. The ZU103R has performed brilliantly on the Wand, highly recommend.Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk 1
myskylab Posted June 13, 2017 Author Posted June 13, 2017 Well I pulled the pin this morning and purchased a Wand+ 9" Tonearm hopefully it will be a magical wand, bringer of sweet music thanks to all for your comments Tim. 2
christosd Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Please let us know what you think once in. Simon from DBL is very helpful if you need anything else too. My 9" Wand plus sounds great (with AT33 ptgii on a plinthed Lenco). To get the Plus arrangement onto the Lenco required a Lenco kit that usually is an up-spec from the Wand Classic. Simon helped get me the right bits and now, I have a spare pivot assembly so I can swap the arm around from deck to deck just by lifting it off and plonking it down on another deck. 1
MattyW Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 It will be interesting to hear your findings Sent from my Redmi Pro using Tapatalk
