I'm just wondering if there is a reputable repairer around for vintage amplifiers I might be able to talk to. Not looking to be run around. I have a unit that requires a fairly simple fix. I just don't have the time in between everything else to look at it myself. Nothing wrong on the power side of it, its a certain electrolytic issue going on. I could probably have a go at it myself, many hours hunting around in the dark, but I'd rather have a good repair done. Given that its 50 years old its due for a capacitor replacement, and an upgrade on the power side, of the caps there also. I'm not really in the mood for dealing with people who want to charge $150 to do a bench test and fix nothing. The problem is the vast majority of so called "technicians" on the Sunshine Coast are useless with anything that can't have "parts ordered for" directly from the factory. So I'd rather get a recommendation rather than going into something completely blind. I would rather tinker with it myself if that's the case. Leave a message or PM me.
