Hi Jakey

You could buy a new Naim SLIC cable for $110:

https://melbournehifi.com.au/products/naim-slic

I have 5/5 and 4/5 Naim SNAICs, which you could have for $180 ea (outside your price range, I know).

I also have a Chord Chorus Reference 4/5 listed.

Cheers. I have a 4/4 Teddy cable that came with the Teddy. Looks like the seller has offered to swap it for me for a 5/5 240. Would you know which input on a 112 I need to plug the Teddy into? I'm assuming output A from Teddy and output B to amp??

It seems both the pre and the power amp can connect to the Teddy. If so how does the audio signal get from the pre to the amp? And would you disconnect the IEC from the 150 amp?

I'd head over to pinkfishmedia they will put you right. I know with my NAC32.5/TEDDYCAP/BD160 there were two ways of connecting it. One they called the Avondale way and then the Naim way. I remember trying both and preferred the Avondale way. I think
It was the option of taking the signal from the powered (teddy/hi cap) pre amp to the power amp or the signal from the hicap or teddy cap to the power amp......

I would also look at Flashback cables in the UK for some no nonsense good quality cables.

Thanks @TOPSHELF I've questioned some NAIM owners and googled and been advised mains cable into Teddy IEC and then 5/5 SNAIC from Teddy to pre and 4/4 SNAIC from Teddy to Amp. It's all new and weird. The seller is going to send me the right cable and I'll return the 4/4.

I also have a Nordost Blue to connect my streamer to the pre.

Nice, it will be interesting to hear your thoughts on Naim v ME. I went in the other direction albeit with a different generation of Naim to ME with a Teddy pr1 in the middle.

Hmm might be very contentious!! Lol.

I'm not sure it will be any better. Maybe a sideways step? The ME14 and 550 hicap is a formidable opponent.

In any circumstance I won't be selling the ME combo.

It will be very interesting though, I expect big from the Naim/Teddy as with the units and associated cables it's a lot of money worth. Well for me anyway.

Hi Jakey,

As I said, I’m not familiar with the 112, but my understanding of Naim gear, is that you need to have the IEC power cords connected and powered up at all times (with or without Teddy, HiCap, etc). Just treat the Teddy (not sure which model) as a replacement to a HiCap or SuperCap. I had a Teddy Dual HiCap and liked it very much.

You can go to the Naim forums and post a question there - you will get an excellent answer, or you could email Peter Swain of Symbiosis (Linn/Naim dealers) in the UK and amazingly, he will likely answer you. He’s a great guy comping down in a few months to work on my Linn LP12. Teddy Pardo are also very responsive to questions.

Cheers

Malcolm
