AudioGeek Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Hi guys, I am using Acourate to generate filters for a HQPlayer/Roon front end feeding a PSE-144 horn system. I have tried to read up on some of the functionality of Acourate, but have not progressed past using the basic macros. I noticed that Uli is offering a filter generation type service. Has anyone used this? I presume there is a lot more to be gained than what I am using now, I think I have only scratched the surface of this software.
Keith_W Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Hi AG I use Acourate for my own system as well. I haven't asked Uli to make filters for me, because I wanted to learn how to make them myself. If you need help from some experts (including Uli himself and people like Mitch Barnett), ask in the Acourate forum. I suggest you buy this book: https://www.amazon.com.au/Accurate-Sound-Reproduction-Using-DSP-ebook/dp/B01FURPS40 You should try to learn Acourate using the steps suggested by Mitch in that book. First, learn how to use the basic macros. Then learn to linearize the drivers, and incorporate these into your basic crossover. Then finally, time alignment and overall room correction. Also, start your system showcase with some of the measurements you have taken. 2
davewantsmoore Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Beat me to it KW All the info in the book is elsewhere in bit and pieces .... but Mitch's book pulls it together into a nice story.
