$146AUD ($179 on ebay)
24/192 DAC
24/96 USB
Optical/coax/USB /Aux input
remote (crappy)

this thing is about the size of 5 cd cases stacked together.

I've tried it on a pair of whatmough classic fx1's and monitor audio MA6's
and it sounds very neutral....maybe a bit flat at times. it would be great with there was a bit more warmth.

Will go over to friends house to compare to a Rotel & try it on floorstanders

I purchased this unit for a family member who wanted something for their smart TV (via optical) streaming youtube, music and movies. wanted to find them something that sounds good and won't cost more than $200.

well worth the money, i'm sure some people in this forum has spent more on exotic fuses and cables.

SMSL also has a icepower 50w intergrated with electronic volume control, DSD dac & phono input for under $700 with I'm interested in trying out.

Just to let you know that if it's a genuine Bang and Olufsen icepower amp, that B&O provide no schematics or service manuals or technical support if the amp breaks (which sadly they do. I know from experience). I just thought I'd let you know about that. I wouldn't buy one. If buying a class D amp I'd rather a cheapo Tripath amp, simply because, if they do break, they are cheap to replace. Unlike the B&O which is expensive. Probably not much between them in terms of sound quality.

don't think it will be a genuine ice in the SMSL

they are about $250 on ebay for the module.

I'm not minding the Q5 at the moment. just not that dynamic.

had a listen to the Q5 on a pair of tiny whatmough floor standers.

Compared to a TASS pre, rotel power amp, NOS Dac it sounds pretty flat.
