Farcanal.  This is tragic.  Such a unique voice, like a V8...

Audioslave is a favourite band band of mine, but I saw Chris front Soundgraden at The Big Day Out many moons ago.

RIP brother man, so sad.

The greatest voice to come out of that that whole Seattle/ Grunge scene. His voice was much like Robert Plants to me in that it worked as another instrument in the band rather than just a "singer" out front. An amazing talent, gone too soon. Very upsetting.

Vale Chris

Solo in Melbourne....one of the great concerts I've ever had the privilege of seeing.

Soundgarden got me through many lonely nights in Tokyo in the early 90's...

RIP Chris.   :(

I think that sentiment will ring true for many of us....many times as a confused angry young man SG got me through. Was so looking forward to seeing a new tour and record. I feel numb right now...

This is shattering. He had such a great voice, what a range. I grew up listening to him from early SG days, right through to Audioslave and his solo career. That man could make anything coming out of his mouth sound phenomenal

This is one of the bigger losses for me musically this year.

'I fell on black days'. RIP Chris. Thank you.

Official cause of death suicide by hanging in his hotel room.....wtf !

According to his wife he showed no signs of depression whatsoever and played a show just a couple of hours earlier where he was talking about playing the next show......strange.
