Not excactly sure where to put this but I am looking for information on a Classé CA-5300 that was traded in as a downsize where the owner has moved from a big house to a small house. The trade in occured beginning last year and it was accompanied by various other Classé and B&W equipment. The serial no is 2184065

I am looking for the person who traded this in a hifi shop in Hawthorn area. Just wanted to get info on the amp. If someone knows please pm me.

I can recall JohnA had the Classé Ca2300 and an Esoteric cd player. Maybe he had the above mentioned gear as well.

What information are you after? Purchase History? Age?

Date of purchase (as what I can understand it was bought new by the person who traded this in)

Also what info was provided to the dealer when trading this in.

I bought this unit and it started faulting 2 weeks after I got it.

Just want to get details in that regard.

Regardless of whether they are trade-ins, demo or new in box, statutory warranty applies.

The seller has an obligation to ensure the goods are of acceptable quality, free of defect (unless explicitly stated prior to sale) and fit for purpose.

Have contacted them various times. Will see what my next action will be when they get back to me on Friday.

@Telecine   is our Classe amplifier Guru(actually he's our Guru full stop @guru sorry guru yours is just a nick,Tele's is the real deal;) I believe, as he can do that transcendental elevation thingy the Maharishi tried to teach the Beatles and thus when he changes volume his carpet never feels the press of feet. (yes a remote does the same trick but try telling that to masses of followers...)  Tele might know about the provenance of this amp.

@Luc very flattering but @guru is still the guru.

@JohnA had a Classe Audio CA-2300 power amp and an Electra Reference for his other channels. I am not aware of him owning a Classe Audio CA-5300.
