Thank you for your encouragement

Welcome lakman.

"Engineer", "retired", ='s XP.

Your broadcasting some music using a PC and it's soundcard and it's rca or optical outs into a DAC and then into an amplifier and when you switch it all on you have the noise of the hdd's spinning and the changed pitch you get when you use your mouse. You ditch the DAC and run rcas's from PC direct to Amplifier.

You still get the same noise.

Why?

How can it be overcome?

If you have the time, perhaps you could ruminate upon this problem as no one else has been able to supply a solution that works.

This is a relatively common problem.

It is typically due to driver/configuration issues in the computer.   Where other devices (common examples are:  your mouse, or your video output) interfere with the operation of the audio output.

  • Try updating the drivers for your sound card
  • Try changing settings to do with the sound card  (Eg. IRQ, or devices which share this IRQ with the sound card)
  • Try (temporarily) another audio adapter.   You could try borrowing or buying a cheap USB soundcard as an experiment  (Example)

Greetings

Welcome lakman. I think we have much to learn from you, rather than the other way round.

Welcome aboard!

Watch out for the narrow casters though...........................

Welcome to sna and :party hard in your retirement.
