WTB: Hybrid CD Player

Featured Replies

Item: Vincent CD-S8, Unison Research Unico CDE Primo, Due, etc Hybrid Valve CD Player.
Price Range: depending on model, age and condition.
Item Condition: Used
Extra Info: I'm interested in obtaining a hybrid valve CD Player at the Vincent CD-S8 level or above. I would look at a demo model if at the right price.

I have access to a Musical Fidelity KWDM25 if you want the best for about $3000.

It will also give you SS outputs from the dac if you change your mind about valves. Both Single Ended Class A operation

Castle hill hifi has got Unison Research CDE, demo $2899 and trade in $2500(has EAT valve upgrade)

best to chat to Goren about that

In you were in Perth, I would have lent you for a weekend couple of the 20 or so CD players that I have and which are hybrids to see what you thought of them.

But sadly none of them is of the grand makes that you mention; one of them is my concoction (Lampizated Marantz) and another is Chinese.

Somewhat cheaper than the Unison Research though.

I have a Musical Fidelity A5 and a Cayin CDT-17A and would consider letting one or the other go. Let me know if any interest and you'd be welcome to drop round and audition them at your convenience.

Hi Terry, I have a Vincent CD-S7DAC that doesn't see as much use as it should that I could be convinced to part with.
