I'm moving home next weekend including a large record collection and am looking for some advice from the collective wisdom here at SNA.

Can anyone recommend a reliable and professional removalist in Sydney?

What would you recommend I pack my records into?  Last time around, I moved my collection over numerous trips in a few milk crates.  This time the distance is a bit greater and the number of records in my collection has grown over the past 10 or so years.  Does anyone in Sydney have a large number of milk crates I could borrow for a couple of days?  I estimate I would need a few more than 20 crates.

You should have thought about this much earlier. I sourced boxes from JB Hifi. Excellent. 20 did the job. I'm moving next week too. 1100 Lps well packed.

I take it these are the boxes that records are delivered to the store in. I've been collecting boxes for moving for months I've got 6 weeks to go.....

Have you been talking to my better half?  ;)

Can these be purchased from JB?  I would need double that amount.

Got some advice from a few mates outside SNA.  For others who are interested, Kennards have a box that is well suited - Medium Box Heavy Duty 403mm x 301mm x 330mm.  https://www.kss.com.au/boxshop

I received an even better suggestion that I will share after making a phone call or two tomorrow morning.

I used the Kennards ones.

Heavy duty is a must.

There might be something with a better fit though..............I was in a hurry.

In what way is the Kennards box not an ideal fit?  Is it too long and therefore too heavy?  It looks like the right height and width.

We recently moved with a collection of vinyl in the vicinity of 1500 records and utilized boxes from kennards with no problems at all. I lined the bottom of each box with bubble wrap for extra protection but that was probably over the top.  Kennards will buy the boxes back at the end of the move.

I'm leaning towards a plastic storage box from a big box retailer. I'm then going to kit the garage out with a few of those metal storage shelves from Bunnings or the like and stack them on them.
