Thanks, John, for making your home and your terrific system available for Sydney SNAers to audition so many of our products. Dave and I are very grateful that we are able to give Sydney SNAers the opportunity to experience our range of loudspeakers and for any Sydney SNAer genuinely interested in our BR range of loudspeakers, we are happy to talk to you about arranging a home demonstration in your own system on a trial loaner basis, similar to the very popular Slee Loaner Program.

John is a wonderful host and I highly recommend you put your hand up for the GTG on March 12, you will not be disappointed.:thumb: If there is room and I can make it down myself, I will do my best to attend as well.

Cheers,

Keith

That's great Keith, nothing beats an audition in your own home.

Hope you can make it along to John's on the 12th. We know we have a fantastic speaker in the BR3s and the whole BR range for that matter, so an audition in John's excellent system will be a good start for anyone wanting to trial these in their own system.

Cheers,

Keith

Looking good John.:thumb:

I hope you all have a great GTG, but unfortunately I can't make it down due to a surprise visit from our youngest daughter on Friday and we'll be spending today with her before she goes back to Melbourne tomorrow.

For those attending today, if you haven't heard John's system before, you're in for a real treat indeed and of course that is also the case if you've never heard the sensational CH2s and BR3s either. And yes, I know I'm biased and I would say that, wouldn't I, but please let me know here after the GTG today what your impressions are? Also looking for plenty of pics too!:D

Cheers,

Keith

we've just finished.  Lots of great music and discussion.  Really enjoyed this afternoon and do thank everyone for taking the time to come and have a listen.  I only took a few pics because we were in heavy discussion about the music and the speakers.

@cheekyboy - Keith a few questions came up in terms of sensitivity of the speakers. the driver manufacturers (for both the BR3s and CH2s). I'm sure the guys will drop their questions on PM or in this thread.

We listened to a wide range of music:

in order from dodgy memory

- Bonobo: The North Borders

- Cinematic Orchestra: Everyday

- Pink Floyd: DSOTM

- Jason Isbell: Southeastern

- Peter Gabriel: So

- Kandace Springs: Soul Eyes

- Gregory Porter:  Liquid Spirit

- Miles Davies: KOB

- London Grammar: ?

- Emma Louise:  Supercry

- Andrea Bocelli: ?

- Pink Floyd: WYWH

- Ziggy Marley: Ziggy

We swapped over from the BR3s to the CH2s towards the end to give everyone a sample of both speakers.

thanks to the following members for coming over;

@Hensa

@rusty48

@SteveC

@SPR08Y

@ophool

@Tasebass

and Jeremy

I must say,  we were very lucky to have both sets of speakers to listen to today.  Both have their advantages IMO

My thanks to John and his lovely bride for their hospitality this afternoon.

As John notes both sets of speakers have their strengths and will suit different needs in different rooms, driven amazingly well by 25 watts they would be candidates for pairing with the Slee Mono block  amps also carried by Wyndham Audio.

A great afternoon with lots of great music both old and new, Michael says I talk too much - he is probably right - but it could be I was just enjoying myself.

Talk too much? Did I say that Tony? Ok I did!

Thanks for hosting such a lovely and enjoyable GTG John. I enjoyed listening to both sets of speakers and, John, you must be very pleased with the system you have put together. It 'works' in your room!

I enjoyed listening to the BR3s, however, they seemed to pressurise the room a little too much and being front ported I felt as though I would have liked to be a couple more metres back.

if someone nicks the CH2s I would check my place in the first instance! Big they are, but they had a lovely effortless and engaging presentation and seemed great in your room. The depth of their soundstage was great! Nuts amount of bass from a 6" driver!

So pleased to come away with more positive thoughts about Australian made products (which we as Australians should try to support, it would be a shame to become a nation reliant on service industries, we must try to support our designers, especially considering the high quality of their products, imported doesn't necessarily mean better, etc. (rant over)) I'm sure Keith is very, and justifiably, proud of both speakers. Thanks for leaving the BR3s at John's so we could have a listen. Also fab to come away with some music recommendations to seek out, after all, good music surely drives the hobby! (Did I mention I liked the way Kandace was looking at us from the album cover!)

Many thanks,

Michael

Very enjoyable afternoon with a great host. It's been a while since I've been to Johns place and the selection of music seems to have grown substantially. Enjoyed some classics and new music to me. Both speakers will cater for different tastes with top notch build quality and level of finish. Very surprised by the heft of the CH2 bass. I think the Luxman does them both justice and even though I'm not a turntable guy anymore that Kubrick is a very fine source and shows off the speakers at their best.
