Guest Y B Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I love Nordic Noir TV shows. Just finished binging on 10 episodes of Jordskott, enjoyed it a lot but it wasn't as exciting as The Killing, still the best Nordic Noir for me. Or on the environmental issue, I prefer the more recent Occupied on Netflix. Thanks for the recommendations on SBSOnDemand though, I didn't know about these shows so a great discovery for me I will continue with Trapped next...
Guest Y B Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 Trapped was excellent from EP 01-06, then it got sloppy and ...Spring Tide on the other hand took a while to get really interesting and has wonderful ending.Watch 2 episodes of Arnh Dahl, didn't like it that much so switched to Mammon. Thought it was very well produced. Although I suspected where it was going and really did not like the theme, it was so captivating I finished watching the series! Beck is a good series. Beautifully written and well acted. Good if you prefer your drama more slow paced. The Polish series The Border (So called Nordic & Beyond) is great too and a nice change after so much Nordic tvs can't wait for Season 2. Well, that's a lot of TV...
Ian McP Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 another discovery, this time from Germany! The Valley http://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/video/756444227784/the-valley 1
Darren69 Posted October 10, 2016 Author Posted October 10, 2016 Enjoyed The Valley very much. Am loving Romanzo Criminale at the moment, fantastic Italian crime show. Made after a movie apparently.
rusty48 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 'The Deep', set around Bondi Beach, with beautiful camera work and a good plot, starring Noah Taylor and Yael Stone. It's a four part murder mystery, third ep airs this week. No cringe factor, essential viewing for all Sydneysiders.
Ian McP Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 more SBS on Demand faves: Italy 1992 http://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/program/italy-1992 Corruption big time! Characters are fictional however the big players are real! If you like this watch out for Suburra (saw it at recent MIFF film fest) https://www.theguardian.com/film/2016/jun/23/suburra-review-brash-and-brutal-italian-thriller Jordskott http://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/program/jordskott Nordic noir with a supernatural twist!
mjsdb Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 http://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/video/312804931875/headhunters Another good movie called Headhunters
Darren69 Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 Just finished Romazo Criminale, sad to see it end!! Fantastico.
Ian McP Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 more Nordic! Modus http://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/program/modus < Inger Johanne Vik has been working as a profiler for the FBI but is now back in Sweden with her two daughters, because she has decided to prioritize her children above her work, when her oldest daughter Stina, diagnosed with autism, witnesses a brutal murder. > regards Ian 1
