Zaphod Beeblebrox
Hi Guys, How do you rate these Amps? Would you pick them orver Luxman? Depends on the McIntosh and the Luxman AND, most importantly, which speakers. Fundamentally, the best way to choose an amplifier is like this: * Decide on which speakers you like and buy them. * NEVER restrict yourself to two brands of amplifiers. Allow yourself to be open to ALL the available options. * Try to borrow several different amps and use them on YOUR speakers in YOUR room.

hugo_wilco
B&W and McIntosh are a great combination. JBL and Tannoy also have great synergy too. I have a MC152 and a McIntosh C22 reissue running my JBL's and the sound is stunning. ALso heard the new 803 D3 running through McIntsoh as very impressed. I am looking to upgrade my Mac to monobocks so PM me if youre interested. http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php/topic/100745-eoi-mcintosh-mc152-power-amplifier/ http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php/topic/100745-eoi-mcintosh-mc152-power-amplifier/

petersv
I heard a MA7000 + B&W 805 Diamond auditioned back in 2012 and it pretty much ruined my life... got me hooked and addicted and nothing I heard could ever match that sound. Ended up in the end buying the 805s and a Devialet over the following years trying to chase that sound... but dunno what it is, still think the MA7000 + 805Ds were an unbeatable combo still to this day... cabling was Kimber Bi-Focal.
