Hi all,

I'm new to all this HIFI business, so forgive me if Ive posted in the wrong place or for the noob question.

Anyway I just brought a new UHD Smart TV and Yamaha Receiver. Both were working good together.

However today I got Foxtel installed and when I turn off the TV, you can still here the Foxtel audio through the receiver. ( The receiver turns off for 5 seconds and then seems to turn back on. ).

Its like the Foxtel is re-booting the Receiver if that makes any sence.

From what I read, if I turn the TV off the receiver should stay off. Any help much appreciated.

CEC is turned off when it came out of the box.

I turned it on because the TV guy told me too.

Its now off. Even when I do switch CEC on now it wont hold the setting anyway. It goes back to CEC off.

I'm thinking maybe the AMP is switching it off. Does that make sence.

I appreciate your help

hdmi CEC is 2 way so if its not turned off on the foxtel box that could cause it to keep the amp on.

it gets the signal to turn off from the TV but not the foxtel box which is still on so it stays on
