SOLD: FS: Lenehan MLT3 Floorstander speakers

Recommended Posts

Item: Lenehan MLT3 Floorstander speakers (Prototype)
Location: Tuart Hill W.A.
Price: $old
Item Condition: Nice!
Reason for selling: I would like to work on another speaker I have and rebuild it (new cabinets and redesign crossover). They are DIY from someone else.
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only
Extra Info:

These were Mike's prototype MLT3's. So here we have a 1 of a kind Lenehan speaker that sounds wonderful and in a wood finish too. :)

They have some marks here and there but in great condition.

Some info I picked up for these speakers

8 Ohm very easy load can be driven by a 15Watt Valve amp easy

89W/Mtr

Has Duelund bypass caps on the high pass circuit

Has 10awg inductors

Has full hand built ribbon wiring

High Quality Acrolink Pure copper binding posts

MLT3 is optimal in 120cubic mtrs which happens to be my factory listening Lab > 8 x 5.2 x 2.9  120.7 cubic mtrs

MLT3 has a near linear port that is 90mm in diameter and just under 500mm long so bass damping is very good like a sealed enclosure but
with the extension of a vented box. Bass is near SOTA for this application.

I had a pair of MLT3's also not that long ago ;)

Now upgraded to a new pair of ML3 Ref's :D

I thought you fell off the edge of the earth John.

These mlt3s and the pair I subsequently sold to John are sooo close to the much more expensive ML offerings.

I heard theae last week and was gobsmacked.

Best speaker deal ever. Probably withing two tenths of the ml3 ref at less than a quarter of the price.

Now of course those two tenths are very special indeed.

I've tried to convince my wife for years that an extra two tenths is well worth the wait, but no goer ;)  :P

Rob

Being the previous owner of a pair of MLT3's and new owner of ML3 Ref's I could come across as biased also, but would add what Matt said regarding them being 3/4 of the way to the performance of ML3's, but waaaaaaay below 3/4 of the price for a pair of ML3's (don't tell the better half about that or I'm done for ).
