Hi folks,How do you guys catalog your vinyl?do you use software or old school pen and paper?which is fine,i might ad. I know alot of people who use excel.that does the job well. CatraXX was great for me but is no longer for sale. On the shelf, i only catalog alphabetically within genres(very basic,i know)but it works for me. Here are some others,if you like to try some. This one is very good and looks good to compared to some of the very basic ones.I think its Australian too.It doesn't have everything i would like, but its very good. You can download a free trial at link below. You can get free trials with most of them i think.I will add more if i find them. Please post your thoughts and comments. Please vote on topic,so others can use in the future too. I just recently purchased a VPI16.5 and although I am very happy with the machine I can't seem to find a decent solution to use for it. I purchased a locally made liquid from eBay. It seems to be popular (they have sold 100+ of the 250ml bottles) however I'm certain they are using crap ingredients as it seems to be leaving a very slight film on the vinyl (I even checked it out under a microscope haha). I also tried an imported version but it doesn't seem to be very effective as it does not appear to have alcohol in it. Anyone got any suggestions?... and please... I do not have any desire to make it myself. Yes, I know I can but I really don't have the time or patience. Thanks In Advance. All advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi, Andrei from RecordBox here. RecordBox is a new way for Australians to enjoy vinyl records (currently offering the genre's of Hardcore and punk), discover new music and expand their collections. RecordBox started up in April 2015 and offers a monthly subscription service in which subscribers can opt in to receive from 1 LP up to 2 LP's and 2 EP's a month sent directly to their door. Countries such as America and the UK have had this service for years and the subscribers love it! Except if you want to enjoy these services in Australia subscribers have to pay the hefty postage costs which put an annual subscription to over $400. We've decided to bring this service to Australia. We are the first and only record subscription service based in Australia (Adelaide to be exact). As RecordBox grows and expands we will be able to offer a wider range of genre's and hopefully get involved with smaller Australian bands to help get their LP's pressed and sold via our service. Thank you, RecordBox

I think its time to replace the brush I got with my KAB EV-1 RCM, which is a velvet pad type. So from experiences, what are the better types of brushes to use with RCM? The velvet/microfiber type brushes like Disc Doctor, or the bristle type brushes like Osage or VPI?

Hi guys, I have a hand built record cabinet which i like very much.I don't have a huge collection buts it a valuable one to me(i only keep vinyl that i like and play-if i don't play it,its gone!) It has a divider every 4 to 5 inches to stop too much wait being left on groups of LPs to stop ring wear etc.We all know if you have 150 records leaning up against each other, wear will show somewhere(even if you put LP outside of sleeve like i do)....that's a lot of weight! The only down side to this cabinet is that the dividers take up a lot of space but they are a necessity to keep vinyl and sleeve/inner sleevs in top shape for many years to come......basically it has a divider every 10 records. What do you guys think would/should be the minimum distance for a wait divider to distribute the weight? I think it would be good to sticky this subject to have all these storage questions in one place for further future reference IMHO.

Hi,i have had to finally catalog my classical records on my cabinets so how do you do it?My friend catalogs by label on his shelves. I need to do it because i can never find what i want to play.

Ha,check this out. I was browsing some second hand vinyl today and i saw this ad for an old Zepplin LP,and is was graded as.....wait for it......"VINTAGE CONDITION"! WTF! I just read it,and spat my tea at my computer screen! That one is nearly as good as "Its Mint for its age".......... Some vinyl sellers/dealers really are slimy pond life. Have a nice day folks.....

Hi, New to the forum../ Simple question.. Is there such thing as an All-in-one system? I'm after a mid to large sized system that can play/has - Vinyl / CD's / USB / Bluetooth / 3.5mm output jack. Have found a couple small hifi systems on eBay but these have built in speakers with low wattage. Would prefer cabled speakers, preferable setup (1sub - 4/6 speakers) like a home theatre, but no necessary. Appreciate any links if such a thing exists. Am hoping to spend no more than $1000 ish. Cheers in advance

Kish-Kash Entertainment on eBay are taking payments for items they DO NOT HAVE IN STOCK. I ordered a Neil Young LP Hitchhiker 16/9/2017 and it was marked as shipped on 18/9/2017. I did note on the listing this statement.... ***** This is a preorder for a new release Vinyl that is not yet released. The release date for this item is 08-09-17. This item will be shipped from our Melbourne Warehouse within 5 days of the release date ***** http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/401398933144?_trksid=p3692.m570.l5999&_trkparms=gh1g%3DI401398933144.N36.S1.R1.TR2 So that statement would mean they would have stock by 14/9/2017 and I placed my order after that date. By 3/10/2017 I still had not received the order. When I enquired the seller replied.... kishkash-entertainment: Hi that is not correct info sorry this is a pre order and the release date has been delayed im sorry so we are still waiting for the vinyls to arrive from the USA did you not get our email about the delay? I had not received any email about the delay. I checked the listing and it had been amended after my purchase but still stated the same thing about release date 08-09-17 and being shipped 5 days after that. So this guy is selling records that he does not have yet and knows delivery of stock is delayed and has no ETA on stock arrival. 2 purchases had been made before mine and another 2 have been made after mine. I wrote back to him and CONFIRMED I was aware of the pre-order statement on the listing and by the way it read it indicated that when I made the purchase he had stock in Australia. Anyway, why mark the item as SENT when he did not even have stock in the first place? Because he is a liar. I did an eBay Item Not received refund request and a day later he refunded my money. Because this ****** bag was still falsely advertising like he actually had stock in Australia I left negative feedback in the limited space eBay allow. He responded with more lies - see image below. Karma will get this guy. I would have normally ordered this from Amazon USA but they had sold out. But to my delight I discovered Amazon UK, which did have stock and got it cheaper too!

Further Information: I bought this in 2020 as a package which came fitted with the upgraded 2M Bronze cartrridge. I estimate less than 70 hours use since then, since I swapped to a vintage turntable last year. Turntable has a lovely walnut veneer and is in fantastic condition. There's a few hairline scuffs on the acrylic lid as you'd expect from use - but they're so minute that I couldn't even get a photo of them to upload. Comes with all original accessories, manual, box. Happy to ship at buyer's cost.
