Hi everyone Was wondering if someone could help me with this one... I have Yamaha RX-V663 which served me well till now. I got a set of 5 new speakers(sub is coming soon from US). 4 speakers( satellites) are 6 ohms and the centre is 4 ohms. My receiver has a 6 ohm setting but once I changed it to 6 ohms(was previously on 8 and worked without any probs) the receiver went stupid! Now two front speakers are not working at all although the connection and setting is right. I tested the speakers separately and they work fine. Is there anything I could do to fix this? Hi, I’ve recently upgraded my 5.1 home theater setup & keen to hear tips/opinions on my receiver/speakers & what could be improved or changed to better match. Im always on the lookout for better gear. Thanks in advance. Very solid piece of HiFi, with metal front faceplate and flip down lid to hide less used controls. Being 20 years old, item has been tested but no warranty provided due to its age. Very nice sound from Yamaha. Winner of top sounding receiver. Bargain ONLY $500 due to HDMI issues and 3 work at least so who needs more than that otherwise would be listed at $1200 Hdmi board, 2-3 inputs work , 1-2 don’t for some reason and all other inputs work perfectly goes very well with Denon transport above. Conclusion When dealing with an AVR in this price class, you go in with very high expectations. The Yamaha RX-V3800 has the specs to please most any enthusiast with excellent power, ample HDMI inputs, and internal decoding of the new HD audio codecs. The only personal letdown for me was the AVR's inability to process certain video signals to 1080p; instead it simply passes them through. Even with this shortcoming, this is an excellent product and is worthy of your consideration when looking for an AVR in this price class.
