Selling my reliable Solidsteel S2-4 rack. I've moved house recently and no longer have the space for a dedicated hifi rack. It's a shame because it looks great with a turntable on top and separates / other source devices on the other shelves. The S2 range is the entry-level range from Solidsteel but still provides tons of support and has clear advantages over typical MDF/flatpack furniture. Includes carpet spikes + hard floor pads. It's currently disassembled since I moved but can easily open up the box for inspection. In great condition as it's always been in a smoke-free home and looked after. Why not build one yourself? This is dead easy and built like a tank, i already had the timber so am unsure of the cost of the timber, choose a good thick piece about 50mm, mine was 30cm wide & as I wanted 60cm deep shelves I cut 2 pieces to length and glued them together to make 60cm deep shelves. The width is your decision as is the depth, I cut mine at 60cm so effectively making a square rack. 20mm galvanised threaded rods were purchased from a local diy store 1 meter long, you can set the height of each shelf by running nuts along the thread until you are happy with the heights, You will need to drill a clearance hole in each corner to take the threaded rod, I spray painted the gal finish black. You can even added sub shelves to the underside of the main shelves to take smaller non heat producing items. This rack will survive WW 3. Good Luck

Hi all, I have tossed out my CD player and ripped all of my albums into FLAC format! As a result, I have been building a two-channel digital system from the ground up over the last 12 months and I'm now up to the power conditioning and isolation stage. The guiding philosophy has been based on the following principles: 1. The reproduction of music must be accurate and clear 2. Instruments must sound natural, neutral and 'uncoloured' 3. The components must represent value for money (to some degree) The selection of individual pre-loved components followed this acquisition sequence (I already had an Arcam CD36 player on loan): - Speakers: Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors (stand mount) - Amplification: Plinius Tautoro Pre and Plinius SA-201 Power Amp - Source: Replace Arcam CD36 Player with Ayre Acoustics DAC - Interconnects: Replace all generic interconnects with AudioQuest Sky - Speakers: Replace Sonus Fabers with Avalon Ascendants (floor standing) - Speaker cables: Replace generic cables with AudioQuest Redwood The results are great so far, but there is still tweaking to do and the room acoustics aren't great. I am currently in the process of purchasing an Ayre L-5xe power conditioner and some AudioQuest US power cables to experiment with. Really my goal here is to replace my supermarket power board with a solution that won't change or colour my system in any way. I am also looking to invest in a rack system next which will properly isolate each component including footers/feet/cones. Does anyone have any suggestions for a high quality rack system that I can keep for the long term? I am leaning towards Harmonic Resolution Systems (HRS) to tie in with the modern silver theme. I am also interested in anyone's experience with high-end footers/feet/cones. Cheers!

Further Information: Recently purchased off a seller on Gumtree without consulting the wife first and was overruled before I even set it up with my gear on it. The racks are structurally sound, with the odd scratch and the boards show some minor signs of wear from general use as pictured. Pickup only from Bayswater, Perth. Further information: upfor sale is a pair of Audiobastion power amp stands. Very good build quality and sound good as well. I originally purchased for my mono power amp, end up with only use one for my stereo power amp. So one is new and one is used with some marks and scratches during move my heavy amp up and down. Price is for the pair btw.

This thing is solid, weighs a tonne therefore providing exceptional isolation for your components. Unit is fitted with some casters and retractable carpet spikes.
