Hi Guys,
Recently I was getting a pair of my SET monoblocks repaired and upgraded. The hifi shop loaned me a pair of push pull monoblocks while they were working on mine.
While they didn't have the same incredible highs and mids they starkly reminded me of how good and controlled the bass is with a push pull design.
It got me thinking and I wonder if there is anything around like this:
Some sort of cross-over before the amplification stage which distributes mids and highs to a SET and the bass to a push-pull unit.
Could even take the crossover out of your speakers and place them between the preamp and power amps (stereo SET and PP or 4 monoblocks or stereo containing both SET and PP) and run the speakers naked?
I know volume matching would be an issue but could probably attenuate the push pull unit.
Anyone aware of anything around like this?
Rob
