Hi, Andrei from RecordBox here. RecordBox is a new way for Australians to enjoy vinyl records (currently offering the genre's of Hardcore and punk), discover new music and expand their collections. RecordBox started up in April 2015 and offers a monthly subscription service in which subscribers can opt in to receive from 1 LP up to 2 LP's and 2 EP's a month sent directly to their door. Countries such as America and the UK have had this service for years and the subscribers love it! Except if you want to enjoy these services in Australia subscribers have to pay the hefty postage costs which put an annual subscription to over $400. We've decided to bring this service to Australia. We are the first and only record subscription service based in Australia (Adelaide to be exact). As RecordBox grows and expands we will be able to offer a wider range of genre's and hopefully get involved with smaller Australian bands to help get their LP's pressed and sold via our service. Thank you, RecordBox

was just browsing youtube on the PC as the pre-amp on the main rig decided to blow a fuse (literally) and for some reason I ventured down the punk path. What defines punk as a genre? To me is has to be raw, fast and anti-establishment. There is no place in punk for "boy meets girl" etc, unless it's a parody on "rich boy get's away with raping girl, 'cos daddy has a good lawyer" I love the Ramones, but they're not punk (IMO), just fast 3 minute rock pop tunes The Sex Pistols always seemed too manufactured to me - not much talent, but well marketed by Malcolm McLaren "Stranded" by the Saints was just amazing, and the song "Know Your Product" from "Eternally Yours" is still an all time favourite, Black Flag and and later stuff by Henry Rollins was punk. I never saw Black Flag live but the Rollins Band and Henry himself in full flight was awesome - angry punk. bands like Green Day, Offspring, Blink 182 etc just follow on from The Ramones - great music, but not Punk. The Dead Kennedys are my all time favourite punk band, and IMHO the epitome of Punk music. What defines "Punk" music for you, and who are your favourite punk bands? cheers Mike
