After going through a process of software comparison and tweaks, I have come to the opinion that you can get all "Audiophile accepted" software players to output the same results. And there is only so much you need to tweak inside software to get to that result, where you can easily can get lost in all the tweaker options that are available. When it comes to hardware, there are almost as many options for upgrades but it's a lot more expensive to try them all out compared to tweaking your software. What I want to do with starting this thread is to find out which ones have been confirmed to work within which setup and how this has been tested. Ideally it would be great to organize some gathering (Audio LAN party) where different type of hardware can be tested or tried. I do have a PPA USB card where I cannot find a difference in SQ. Tested between 2 identical PC using the same software setup. I also had a short change to try an Audio Audiophilleo in a 1 PC setup. I didn't find a difference in SQ on this occasion either. I am using an Oppo 105 as a DAC and used CD quality files for playback. Where I am interested in at this time is to find out the influence of the power supply and the difference between a high and low power system. Please let us try to avoid any heated discussion about cables. If you want to have a debate about cables I am sure there other threads where you can do this. People can make up their own mind.

DAC-lovers, anyone here interested in the forthcoming Schiit Yggdrasil? Did anyone experience it at the recent CanJam? Their 'bitperfect' filter design and attention to power supply have my attention. http://www.digitalaudioreview.net/2014/10/schiit-exhibit-fulla-usb-and-yggdrasil-dacs-at-canjam-14/

Hi there, does anyone know where I could buy (or have made) a PSU for a DSPeaker AntiMode 8033? It is a 9V AC/ 12V DC. The original one hums a bit. Oh I am in Sydney. Thanks!

Hello, With much thought about my preamp and its power supply, I've decided to have a 'Tube PSU' made for my preamp. I know nothing about building a PSU. I just want a great PSU. Can anyone recommend a reputable technician who can make me a PSU? I live in Melbourne - eastern suburbs - but I don't mind if the psu builder is further away or even interstate. I just want a great tube power supply for my TS Lim Diva M7 Preamp. My Diva preamp has been modified/upgraded caps. The tube PSU that usually pairs with the Diva preamp is pictured below. But I can't find one. The PSU I currently use is the black box below. Thank you for any suggestions. Bob @aussievintage

Hello, I have a TS Lim Diva M7 preamp. There are three tubes in the signal chain and a separate non-tube power supply. I wanted to find an appropriate separate tube power supply. Does anyone have any suggestions? The photo of the psu that is usually recommended is attached. However, it is very difficult to find one and I don't know their cost.. I have borrowed another preamp with a built-in power supply. It sounds very good - nice mid-range that seems to extend more. Overall, the sound has more integrity and smoother. It only has a rectifier tube plus two tubes in the signal chain. My Diva has three tubes in the signal chain. Can anyone tell me the main difference ('all other things been equal') that I should expect to hear between two and three tubes preamps? Please don't answer, "the difference is 'one' tube" Thx so much for any help you can offer. Bob

Item: Wyred4Sound Remedy Reclocker + Gieseler Linear Power SupplyLocation: Cleveland, QLD (4163)Price: $475 (Shipping +$15, PayPal +3%)Item Condition: Used, very good conditionReason for selling: No longer required.Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal (+3%) , Bank TransferExtra Info: Listing is for a Wyred4Sound Remedy Reclocker (purchased 20-Oct-2015) and a Gieseler Linear PSU (purchased 31-Dec-2015), original Australian printed invoices are included for both items. Used between a Sonos Connect and a Devialet 120 to great effect, reduced jitter was immediately noticable and converted the Connect into a high-performance device. Although the reviews for the Reclocker have generally been very positive, I've found that the performance jump added when using the Gieseler Linear PSU to the Reclocker took its performance into a whole new realm (a bigger jump than the reclocker itself out of the box!) , and once heard with it, couldn't recommend listening without it. I've found the performance jump gained with this combo scales well when using even better sources/dac, not just entry/mid level etc. Current RRP $870+ Review: http://www.digitalaudioreview.net/2014/08/wyred4sound-remedy-spdif-reclocker-review/ Website: https://wyred4sound.com/products/digital-converters/remedy-reclocker Reclocker Features (from website): Utilizes an incredible Femto-grade clock Superior jitter reduction Toslink and Coaxial digital inputs Toslink, Coaxial, BNC digital outputs 96kHz output sampling frequency* Digital inputs support up to 24/192kHz 9VDC power supply included 5 year warranty Gieseler Linear PSU: Description This linear low noise DC power supply is designed to improve the performance of digital audio accessory devices that are normally powered by small SMPS plug-packs. All the internal components are of high quality & are selected for reliability & sound quality where applicable. Capacitors are Nichicon Fine Gold, Panasonic or Elna Silmic II’s. It is powered by external IE core transformers. These have a distinct advantage over the usual Toroidal type as they have better isolation between the windings & lower bandwidth means less HF noise coming in via the mains. Also being external there is less radiated hum entering the power supply circuitry. Noise, hum & ripple levels are very low due to the common mode choke pre filtering & low noise Linear Technology high performance regulators. Also what helps to reduce noise as well is the use of Schottky diodes & a transformer LC snubber. The DC output cable/connection is an area that is often neglected; so I have gone to extra lengths here to get it right. The DC output on the supply uses a Neutrik 6 Amp XLR gold pin socket. The supplied DC cable uses a matching Neutrik gold pin plug hand soldered to a 10A lead with moulded DC barrel connector for ruggedness. Specifications Noise level is approximately 20 uV to 40 uV d. Ripple & hum rejection is approximately 100 dB. Short circuit & thermal protection. Website: http://gieseler.com.au/ProductsPage/index.html Pictures:

Hi, I have been growing into computer audio for the past year and I am thinking about building my final build. Looking at my parts list and doing some research I did come across quit a few positive reactions about using linear power supply's. I would prefer to have the possibility to demo some of these computer parts before buying them. I am a bit skeptical since I own a specialized USB card who doesn't seem to make a difference, tested an USB cable that doesn't seem to make a difference compared to a stock one, and had a breve experience with an Audiophilleo2 that didn't seem to make a difference either. If you have some hardware related to computer audio that you are willing to share/demo/borrow with me that would be highly appreciated.
