  2. Further information: I bought this direct from Singapore (Alvin at Vinshine Audio before the Australian distributor was established( to couple with the Terminator DAC. For really obscure reasons that didn't work out, in hindsight I wish it did. I used it for barely 2 weeks back Dec 18 / Jan 19. It will have the balance of the 3 year warranty. I believe the current retail is around $2800 so this is near half price for effectively brand new. I have all original packaging and can ship at buyers expense The EX Series is tuned to reproduce sound quality with balance mid and smooth extension in both ends, high and low extension. True Class-A biased, fully discrete input and output stages are the heart of the EX-P7. Rich in tonal quality, details, and high resolution. Silky smooth volume control thanks to the discrete R2R volume control, of which known for its precise and accurate volume adjustment with precision matched resistors. Blue Moon award from 6moons http://6moons.com/audioreviews2/kinki5/1.html From the review: ... if you run a premium DAC without volume... then such context calls out the EX-P7 as a spectacularly cost-effective yet premium solution. One needn't spend glossy front-cover coin to get high performance. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  3. Further information: Selling my Bryston 4BSST2 + MPS2 + BP26, the complete set was brought from Carlton Audio Visual in 2016. It still has 16 years warranty remaining on the units. Unfortunately, I do not have the original packaging, but can organise shipping. The units are in very good condition, no remote is included as this was a factory option from Bryston. If you have questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Willing to separate, but preference given to those wanting to buy the complete set. 8. Further information: This is one of the more desirable versions of the legendary Quad 44. More information about which models are best is available online. The serial number of this unit is 'Q 037663'. A second phono input card is included as an extra when buying this pre amp. Sometimes there's a bit of an issue with input switching when you first start the unit, but this is a rather minor thing, Please keep in mind that this is a vintage pre-amp that is working normally 95%+ of the time. There is quite a few minor scratches on top , one on the side and the remote is in reasonable condition ...all working excellent...there is no original box , but it will be doubled boxed and travel safe ...all 15 kg of it ...!!! Shipping is included in my price...!!! Thanks H
  10. Further information: Condition: technically 10/10, cosmetically 9/10 mint (tiny mark on power supply). This Modulus 3A was fully reconditioned by the manufacturer in 2010. Comes with comprehensive manuals, schematics and original AI box. From smoke-free home. Current new production Russian EH 6922 tubes are in very good condition, but I will supply five sonically superior spare tubes - Russian NOS 6N23P made in Voskhod factory. Modulus is well-known for natural sound and outstanding 3D soundstage. Tape output buffer designed by famous John Curl. Audible Illusions is widely regarded as a reference tube pre-amplifier. Dick Olsher, The Absolute Sound (2016): “The L3A line preamp [cheaper version without phono section] distills the best attributes of modern tube sound: swift transients, a detailed presentaton, and natural yet non-euphonic textures. It is its insistence on the sonic truth that defines it as a true reference line preamp. The L3A’s ability to retrieve the music’s rhythmic drive and drama make it one of the most sonically persuasive line preamps on the market and one of the best I’ve auditioned over the years at any price.” The audiophile guru Arthur Salvatore noted in his list of reference components: "[Modulus] 3 may still be the finest preamplifier with phono available today for the money". Georgehifi, Australian designer of renown “Lightspeed Attenuator”, noted: “The AI 3A is one of the best pre’s I’ve heard”. 120V – requires step-down transformer. https://www.tortech.com.au/product/voltage-converters/step-down/economy/economy-american-step-down-transformer/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIg-T39Ima7QIVVjErCh3f5gr2EAAYAyAAEgLrMPD_BwE I am also selling brand new Airlink (made in the UK) balanced power supply/transformer (2 in 1) 230V to 120V. Balanced power supply makes big sonic difference - more detailed and vibrant sound. Audible Illusions designed and crafted in the USA and sold directly by the manufacturer. Current model Modulus 3B cost $5495 USD, plus add some 30% for so called “global” shipping to Australia, insurance, import fees, tax and customs fees (which also applies to used electronics) – total $7143 USD which equals to $9940 AUD. 12. Item: Audiolab 8200 CDQ Location: NE Melb 'burbs Price: $850 ... now dropped 10% to $750 ....... now dropped to $680 .... including SNA donation – shipping costs covered by purchaser Item Condition: Used, very good to excellent condition Reason for selling: Upgraded, and this now needs a home where it will be used Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This is a great bit of kit. A quality CD player, a fine DAC with numerous digital inputs, as well as analogue inputs enabling the unit to run as pre-amp. A damn handy machine for the price, especially with balanced outputs. If you don't believe me, then read some reviews ..... https://www.whathifi.com/audiolab/8200cdq/review https://hometheaterhifi.com/reviews/audio-player/cd-players/audiolab-8200cdq-dac-for-audiophiles/ http://www.hifi-review.com/150587-audiolab-8200cdq.html I purchased this via SNA about 6 months ago from @Snoopy8 when I re-entered the world of my audio obsession. This was first bit of new gear to get me started, but I quickly found that I moved to streaming digital files rather than playing the actual CD - I really didn't anticipate that. But as a result, this unit didn’t get used anywhere near enough. It really needs to go someone who will use it, rather than sitting around in its box. The only marks that I can see on it (apart from the fingerprints), are 1 small scratch on the upper right of the faceplate, and 3 tiniest of nicks in the top rim of faceplate. .... I'd frankly never noticed them, until right now ! It comes in its original box with manual, remote & cable. I’d prefer local pick up for convenience (NE Melb ‘burbs), but it can be shipped at purchasers cost. In the interest of full disclosure, the unit has recently been serviced by Audiolab service techs and the firmware has been upgraded. Since its return, I’ve opened the box & checked it. The photos don't really do it justice .... happy to answer any questions Pictures:

  14. Item: Supratek Grange Pre-Amplifier Location: Melbourne (Sunbury) Price: $6,000 Item Condition: Very Good Reason for selling: Moving up North to an apartment, so everything must go. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Direct Deposit Extra Info: I purchased this from JohnA around 4 years ago who bought it from Steve M around 1 year prior to that. According to SteveM, it was Mick Malony’s personal unit. John purchased it with no volume remote, so had it sent back to Supratek to have one fitted. At the same time, it had a once over and got a clean bill of health. Here we have a DHT 300B Pre-Amp which also features 2 MC phono stages and remote volume control. Also has a separate power supply The back of the Grange is feature-packed. It is currently configured to have 5 RCA Inputs; 2 RCA Outputs; 1 Balanced Output; 2 switched phono Inputs (you can use two turntables and switch on the fly between them); cartridge loading switch; (loading options are 10ohm, 100ohm, 1000ohm 47k) 1 Tape Out; and it has a Negative Feedback settings switch. The feedback switch allows you to match the impedance response to any amplifier you might want to use, solid state or valve. Up top on the solid 2mm copper chassis and in front are controls for Channel Balance; Source Select and Volume; a Mute switch, a pair of unused tube sockets and a pair of obsolete switches which were used for tube loading when trying out different DHT tubes 300B was chosen as the best sounding on this Pre. The top is also plated in 18 Karat gold. It is a little stained as can be seen in the photos, but of course does not hinder the performance of the unit and still looks amazing. Photos have a tendency to exaggerate the effect. Tubes supplied will be 2 x 300B (Shuguang Treasure’s) 2 x 6sn7 2 x 6e6p 2 x 6922 2 x e180/6688 4 x 5881 1 x 5ar4 I also have some spares which will come with it I would prefer a local buyer, but am happy to ship at your expense, but only if I feel I can package it up safely and securely for transport. I will however take no responsibility if it is damaged during transport. The unit is reasonably heavy (both pieces), so needs some serious packing. There is plenty of info on the net, but here is something from our very own SteveM. http://stevem1960.blogspot.com/ If you have any further questions or want to arrange a time to have a listen, please let me know. Regards Andrew Pictures:

  16. Item: Yamaha AVC-30 Integrated Amplifier (Japanese made) Location: Perth Price: $140 Item Condition: 8/10 Reason for selling: Surpus to my needs Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: As a stereo amplifier for music this is a terrific unit. It is Japanese made and is quality built. It weighs over 10 kgs, has a heavy transformer, Black Gate capacitors and good quality phono inputs. It can be used as a more than decent pre-amplifier as it has pre-outs. New it sold for around the $1000 mark so it was not a cheap amp. It packs power (200 watts stereo into 8 Ohms) and the sound is very good. It was an early surround sound model so it has pre DSP features. They are quite rare find in such good condition. SPECIFICATIONS Power output: 100 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo) Surround output: 100W (front), 20W (rear) Frequency response: 20Hz to 20kHz Total harmonic distortion: 0.008% Signal to noise ratio: 100dB (line) Dimensions: 17-1/8 x 4-3/4 x 12-7/16 inches Weight: 22.5lbs Years: 1988 - 1990 Pictures:
  17. Item: Linn Exotik analogue pre-amplifier with Dynamik PSU Location: Adelaide Price: $1050 Item Condition: Excellent except for a small dent in rear right corner of case (see photos) Reason for selling: Upgraded to Linn Exakt DSM Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: Silver Linn Exotik analogue pre-amp for sale (this is not the 'DA' version). Complete with new box from Linn, remote control and AU power plug (it is a standard IEC connector so any power lead will fit and the voltage is auto-selecting). This has been dealer fitted with the Linn Dynamik power supply, which provides a significant improvement to the sound. The pre-amp replaced a Kairn in my own system and was a big improvement with both Klouts and with 2250 power amps. The analogue circuitry in this pre-amp is identical to the later Linn Akurate Kontrol amp and has the same sound. In fact in my own comparisons to the current Akurate DSM there is only a very slight difference in the sound quality of analogue path. The pre-amp provides a 5.1 processor (with all required RCA connections), but is not the later DA digital version and does not have a phono stage. Please note that there is a small dent in the rear right corner (not visible in normal use), see photograph for the extent of this. The Exotik has been back to Linn in Scotland since this occurred (thus the new box). Pictures:
  18. Item: Perreaux SM2 or SM3 Pre-Amp Price Range: Fair Price Item Condition: Working order. Prefer as per spec and/or serviced by qualified tech. Extra Info: Based in Perth, WA.
  19. Further information: If I'm going to sell the power amps, I might as well sell the pre-amp. RRP: https://krispyaudio.com.au/products/manley-jumbo-shrimp-preamplifier.html Edit: it seems I've done myself a disservice by linking to the original Shrimp. Mine says "Shrimp" on the front panel, but it is the later "Jumbo Shrimp" spec, which is not just the RF remote control, also but includes the interstage follower board. So, the valve complement is a pair of GE JAN 12AT7, a pair of GE5670 and a pair of Sylvania 7044s. I have spares of all of those (or equivalents) that I'm happy to pass on. Correct specs are here: https://www.manley.com/hifi/mspr The RF remote control works throughout the entire house, so you can put it in your pocket, go for a walk and crank it up from the backyard. I'm the second owner, since 2010 or so. I've used it happily with solid state and valve amps. Plenty of drive and doesn't mind what cables you use with it. Happy to audition with your amplifier.
