  1. Hey SNA, I have a few Cartridges in my drawer that I had purchased to trial on my previous TT. I have now moved up a notch and have done a deal on an RP6 including an Exact, so my assembled backups are going to be on-sold or gifted depending on their relative merits in either the market or as an improvement to a vintage TT suffering from an overly layed back setup. So I will have the following Cartridges looking to be moved on: 1. Rega Elys 2 - Bought to tame some brightness 2. Ortofon 2M Blue - Bought because the price was too good 3. Nagaoka MP-110 - Bought to get the clarity of the 2M without the top top end brightness. Now my initial thoughts are that the MP-110 is the better cartridge for a vintage Auto TT with a heavier arm, the 2M would really up the anti on the layed backness and the Elys2 is a prime candidate for selling to a proud owner of an entry Rega deck? (P1 or 2) Any thoughts on this mixed bag would be great, and if I was to keep a cart in a backup capacity, which would it be for the RP6? Thanks
  2. Item: Nagaoka MP 500 phono cartridge + stylus Location: NSW 2209 Price: $580 + shipping Item Condition: Near Mint Reason for selling: Rarely used, funding other gears Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal (+3%), COD Extra Info: As I have quite a few cartridges, this one has not been used very much, still in excellent condition, I estimate the stylus is used just around 100 hours, so the stylus still has a long life to go. It has been carefully looked after, I only play cleaned vinyl records with any of my cartridges. I even clean brand new records before use, with my ultrasonic record cleaner. Never thought I would part with it, because it is so incredible. I find it pickups even more subtle details than some much more expensive MC cartridges. This is the top model of Nagaoka Cartridge. It sounds honest, accurate, clear but also smooth if the turntable system is properly tuned. Never bright or harsh. It is a cartridge which deserves to be used in systems way past its price category. Another plus is, that you can get replacement stylus for a realtively cheap cost. It is hard to find a cartridge with a Boron cantilever and line contact stylus for such price. If it was on an MC cartridge would be over $3000. It's sound is from the liquid smooth mid-range school of Koetsu and SPU and it's absolutely wonderful on vocal, woodwind and string. Though it's not quite got the detail of those big MC's but it's remarkably close. Local Inspection welcome. More info
  3. Item: Nagaoka MP150 Location: Canberra Price: $330 posted within Aus Item Condition: As new. Less than 1 hour for testing Reason for selling: Surplus Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Purchased this before I bought a turntable. And bought a new turntable few months later with cartridge fitted. So no longer required. It has very good reviews on YouTube. Pictures:
  4. Item: Rega Planar 3 (latest model) + Neo PSU + New Rega White Belt + Nagaoka MP-150 Location: Dulwich Hill, Sydney Price: $920 FIRM Item Condition: Excellent, Near New, 4 months old. Reason for selling: Trying something different. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Bank Deposit Extra Info: I love Rega turntables, I've owned 4 of them. But the time has come to try something different. All items in excellent condition and come with their original boxes. Turntable and cartridge are calibrated and set up optimally using the Baerwald alignment protractor. The Rega has an addition of a ground lead (see photos). Routing the tonearm's ground through a dedicated wire instead of through the delicate signal RCAs gives the turntable a lift in finer details, quieter background and more solid soundstage. This ground wire connects to the amplifier's, or phono pre's, ground lug just like most turntables do. This was installed by myself with care and know-how and have done so with my past Rega turntables. The new Rega Neo PSU and Brand New Rega White Belt is also included. The cartridge, Nagaoka MP-150, has about 90hrs on it. Fantastic sounding cartridge, one of my favourites. The RRP of this package was $1950 Demo most welcome. Pick up preferred! Pictures:
  5. Item: Ortofon 2M Bronze, Nagaoka MP-200 or 150, Denon DL-110 Price Range: <400 Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: looking for a few carts to try. Low hours, not interested in a knackered stylus and price dependent on model of course ? Please don't forget to report your post as FOUND when possible. (You can now delete this text).
