  1. Item: A pair of CONSONANCE CYBER 845 MONO BLOCKS Location: Ascot Vale, Victoria Price: Withdrawn Item Condition: Excellent - These amps have been lovingly cared for however there are a couple of dents/marks on the side edge as shown in the pictures. They look far worse in the pictures than in the flesh and must have happened during our recent move as I had not noticed them until I looked them over for this add. Reason for selling: Wife forced me to. - We have recently moved into a new house and while it is bigger than our old house I am told these are far too big to go in our lounge room. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash Extra Info: Over the years I cycled through a few amps, valve and solid state before finally settling on these. During this journey I found that I was very drawn to the Single ended valve sound, however, found their low power limiting. The Consonance 845's where the solution for me with class A, single ended, 28 watts. I currently have Shuguang 845B, National Electronics 5687 and Philips SQE88CC tubes fitted to the amp and will include the additional valves, shown in the pictures, in the sale. Due to the size & weight, (approx 30Kg each), a local pick-up preferred. Happy to answer any questions. Pictures:
  2. Consonance by Opera audio , Cyber 800 MK2 mono block valve amps in immaculate condition. These were purchased from Greg at Osborne loudspeakers , in September 2021. These would have around 50hrs of run time , removed from boxes and setup where they sit today. Very well constructed valve amps , utilising premium parts. Delicate yet powerful authority. These compete with amps in a much higher price bracket. Consonance linear 1 preamp is in good used condition , I am the second owner , and I believe is also low hrs run time. There is a scratch on the top panel fascia as seen in photo , no degradation to sound quality. This is a top of the line valve preamp , utilising 2x2a3 valves and 2x101d triodes . It’s built using high end reputable parts and contains silver wiring throughout. Comes with remote ( premium Alps volume control pot ) These 3 items are built to perform together seamlessly , with amazing clarity and detail. The combined weight is 75kgs , and therefore pickup only. Happy to audition

  4. Item: 2 x VINCENT AUDIO SP-997 MONO BLOCK AMPLIFIERS, Silver in Colour Location: Ballarat, Victoria Price: $500 each unit (Price is negotiable. Will consider offers) Item Condition: In very good condition, one has a small dint on the top edge, and a red mark on the face - see photos. Reason for selling: Down sizing my home theatre Payment and delivery method: Negotiable, although together weight is 13kg, so delivery is likely to be expensive, happy for pick up. Extra Info: These have been used as monoblocks in combination with my Cambridge Audio Azur 840A. Have since needed to down grade, so have to give these up. The SP-997 Mini Mono Power Amplifier a logical consequence of the enormous success of our SP-996. Allot of time and effort has gone into the development of this unit, thus a natural partnership with the SAV-C1 decoder preamplifier from Vincent is assured. Whether you need Stereo or 7 channel this unit makes the perfect choice. In the SP-997 you have one integrated signal circuit, which after 30 minutes if no signal is being transmitted the unit completely switches off. In addition it comes with a 12V-Trigger, allowing you to switch numerous devices. Both functions are designed not to affect the audio signal. German design quality at it's best. 7. Further information: Selling my Bob Carver 350 Mono Amplifier, the amplifier was custom made in 240 Volts specifically so there is no need for a step down transformer. The condition is excellent hardly used, build quality is super, and each amplifier is individually handcrafted in the USA by "Tubular" Joe Bonin. Both amplifiers are finished in a lovely crimson red colour which looks absolutely superb. Due to inherent design of the amplifier the Power Tubes which are the KT120 have a increased lifespan and run much cooler. In terms of power, the amplifiers are rated at 350 into 8 and 400 into 4 more than enough power to drive the most difficult of speakers. I have all the original packaging so shipping should not be a problem. If you have any questions or would like further information please do not hesitate to contact me. Price is Negotiable. PLEASE READ If you are advertising multiple items, you must post one bulk price only, or post seperate ads for each item If you include any reference to pricing whatsoever in this section (excluding RRP), your ad will not be approved If you don't include photographs of the actual item being sold, your ad will not be approved
  8. Item: VTA M-125 Valve Power Amplifiers - running 4 x KT120 each Location: Melbourne Price: $2,750 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Change of direction Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: A pair of Vacuum Tube Audio M-125 Power Amplifiers built by me from imported Bob Latino kits. These are configured with 4 x KT120 tubes per side rating them around 125 Watts per channel and driving 4 or 8 ohm loads. Currently running solid state regulators and Tung Sol 12AU7 / EH 12BH7 front end. Will some with spare solid state regulator, valve regulators and alternate front end tubes. A good overview of the amps and their design and performance can be found here - just don;t read too much into the comments on documentation and labeling. They are easy to drive and have been in active use for 18 months: https://hometheaterhifi.com/reviews/amplifier/power-amplifier/vacuum-tube-audio-m-125-mono-tube-power-amplifier-review/ Further detail specifications can be found on Bob's site here: http://www.tubes4hifi.com/bob.htm#M125 I have had them driving my Q-Acoustics Concept 500's where the power of the amps and warmth of the KT120's have been an awesome pairing. Given the weight of the transformers and fragility of the valves I sincerely doubt these would be worth shipping. 9. Hi everyone. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Emotiva range? I'm looking at 2x XPA 100, XPA-2 or possibly the XPA-5 (depending on the stereo quality compared with the stereo and mono's). Also I'm looking at the XDA-2, USP-1 or UMC-200 (if i went with the XPA-5) to drive them. The biggest deciding factor for me is sound quality for stereo. Surround sound in the same unit would be handy for the future but stereo is my focus for now. For now it will be powering a pair of KEF LS50's and a pair or AXIS HTLS (floorstanders) but in the near future will be upgrading to something that can take advantage of the extra power. Also if there are any other suggestions around the same price range that would be great too. Thanks
  10. Got these sitting at home and can not find any info anywhere. Would anyone here recognise these? A small plaque says "Tubeworks CJ 10".
  11. This RGM175 system was bought second hand from Redgum and is one model old so it does not have the big wavey underbelly heat sinks (a bit of a pity really because the current model with those heat sinks looks really cool!). Item: Redgum RGM175 System Location: Bowen Price: $3200 (including postage to anywhere in Australia, overseas postage is likely to be extra) Item Condition: Very good, refurbished by Redgum in May 2013 and sold to me with a 3 year warranty. I have confirmed with Ian from Redgum that the remainder of this warranty is transferrable so there you go, one 2 and a half year warranty. Reason for selling: Several reasons really, I have too many amps (OK, not really a good enough reason on its own, but it's true), I have a broken cd player that I need some cash to fix and I could use some $$ as Christmas is coming up. Sonically I think the Redgums are a little too similar in personality to my S2R speakers, for want of a better term the S2Rs sound a little 'woody' as do the Redgums and when you put them together it is a little too much of the same thing. I could see the Redgums working very well with speakers that are a bit on the bright side. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: See http://redgumaudio.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=59_75&product_id=71 for more info. Pictures: Note: The pics show the RGM175 with the Redgum cd5 on top, the cd5 is not included in the price and is not for sale! The RGM175 comes with 12 volt trigger leads, power cords, two remote controls, manuals and original boxes and packaging but the asking price does not include any interconnects or speaker cables.
  12. Item: Pair of eAR 1001 Mono Blocks (Class D utilising BO ICE Module) Location: Melbourne Price:SOLD Item Condition: Used but immaculate 9.5 / 10 Reason for selling: Raising funds for new purchase $$$ Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, direct transfer Extra Info: I've had these for around a month and purchased them from a seller in the UK he purchased them in 2009 direct from eAR. they are great powerful amps and can drive anything you throw at it. I now have Usher BE718 which are hard to drive and these push them to their limit They are a very detailed amps with strong tight bass the best my system has sound in this regard. Mid range is smooth and detailed a little on the dryer side, top end is pin point accurate with heaps of Zing. I'm floored by the the detail these amps produce if your a detail freak you wont miss a thing, i was amazed at hearing the pedals in piano records and you could hear if the pedal was being pushed hard or soft! My experience of class D is it needs careful system matching if you running valve gear or your system is sounding flat these will synergise really well. I'm spending more $$$ to get matching amps for my preamp these amps are a Bargain for anyone looking for a nice lively amp which will push your speakers to stadium levels Will include $10 donation to SNA on selling these as I'm really enjoying the forum I have the original box and packing.

  18. Item: Stereoknight M-100 (100watt+ per side into 8ohms, or 200+watt per side into 4ohms - your choice) fully balanced design valve monoblocks WITH octet PrimaLuna KT-88s Location: Melbourne, Australia (inner northern suburbs) Price: $4200 ONO Item Condition: Almost perfect Reason for selling: Sidegrading (very reluctant sale) Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, bank transfer. Pickup preferred (thus a buyer picking up will be given preference). Extra Info: Here are a very hard to come by matching pair (sequential serials) of StereoKnight M-100 valve (tube) monoblocks. I had originally purchased them off a gentleman here in Victoria, and since then they have been lovingly and sparingly used, as well as upgraded and some expense. They are in near perfect condition. They have solid aluminium cases (I've never seen a build quality like them - really!), and there are only the odd tiny marks. I have tried my best to photograph all aspects of them. Information can be somewhat difficult to track down, however for those in the know, these are built by the man now responsible for Audio Music (AM AUDIO) - Mr.Fang. I am very happy to say that he is easy to contact and will provide any information and support needed. He stands by his products, and they are massively over-engineered, so should last a lifetime! Here are some links to have a look at. Note that the StereoKnight site is no longer active, as the company is now Audio Music (AM), and most reviews and spec's are relating to the M-75 monoblocks. Advertised here are the much upgraded M-100's, which as I understand it were produced only towards the end of StereoKnight's reign. Some of you will likely be aware that these all were (and AM still are) distributed in Australia via Greg Osborn here in Melbourne. http://www.osbornloudspeakers.com.au/ http://www.audioreference.co.nz/brand/am-audio http://www.am-hiend.com/index.html And here is a review of the (lesser) M-75's (please note the spec's on the ones I have for sale here are different): http://www.dagogo.com/stereoknight-m75-mono-block-amplifier-review Also note that I have added a full octet of select PrimaLuna KT-88 power tubes (4 per side). These retail at $175 each (thus full set = $1400). http://magentaaudio.com.au/product/primaluna-kt88-tube-silver-label/ I bought these tubes off a fellow member, at which time they had very little use (he changed to KT-120's as I recall). Note that, having discussed with Mr.Fang, you could use KT-120's in these beasts, making over 120 watts per side. Wow. Not that you'll need more power........Note that the newer Tung-sol KT-150's won't work in these according to Mr Fang (but now we're just getting greedy!). These beasts, irrespective, will most certainly lend themselves to tube rolling, given how madly revealing they are! At night, they look like two small cities all lit up. Really cool. NOTE: I am also happy to do a deal on the full set of KT88's (and some other spares) I replaced which could be used as spares (Electron Tube KT94). Just ask! Here are the specs from the web (for the lesser M-75's): http://www.stereoknight.com/M-75.html Specifications (note that these have much upgraded spec's. Please contact Mr.Fang via AM Audio for specifics). Tubes: 1 X 6H30, 2 X 6922 4 X KT88 Power output: 2×75W (8? ULTRALINEAR); 2x 140W (4? ULTRALINEAR) Input: 1 x RCA, 1 x XLR Frequency response: 10Hz?60kHz THD: 1%(1kHz) Input sensitivity: 2 V Input impedance: 50 K? Output impedance: 8?, 4? S/N ratio: > 90 dB Dimensions: 500×330×240mm Net weight: 29Kg x 2 Power consumption: 550W maximum Full balance design. High grade 600W EI type power transformer, extra wide band C-core output transformer (StereoKnight signature). High end components (Nichicon and Hovland capacitor), parts (StereoKnight designed heavy duty gold-plated binding post) and wire (TEFLON insulated wire and Japan made POCC rectangular solid core copper wire) all the way. ZERO-NEGATIVE-FEEDBACK technology. ZERO noise: dead silence background. MOSFET voltage stabilization. High control power (75WPC or 140W at 4?), capable of driving a wide range of loudspeakers. Easily accessible individual output tube bias measurement and adjustment points on side chassis. Detachable IEC power cord, high quality gold-plated StereoKnight custom binding posts and RCA jacks. Full high quality aluminum alloy body construction, power meter in faceplate and acrylic enclosure cover design: sturdy built with art. I have been using these amps as follows: Pre - Wyred4Sound STP-SE Power - Stereoknight M-100 valve monoblocks (via XLR in true balanced configuration) - I preferred ~100+W into 8ohms compared to ~200+W into 4ohms, but other systems will vary. speakers - Osborn Epitome (approx 90dB efficiency) sources - various, including hi-res digital and vinyl I must say these amps are truly extraordinary. I've never heard more beautiful bass. They simply don't suffer from slow or muddy bass. They are glorious in this sense. Clarity is superb, and separation and soundstage blows me away. If you're a jazz fan, I'd look no further (your favourite female vocal will make you shiver. Start with a quality vinyl pressing of "What's New?" by Helen Merrill and you'll melt. Having said that, I have a very eclectic taste in music (from jazz to classical to indie rock to heavy metal to 60's rock and back again....) and these amps produce it all with aplomb! Anyone looking for high-powered (and yes, we're talking up to over 200wpc fully balanced into 4ohms if preferred!!), these are hard to pass up. They'll drive almost anything easily. For those in the know, any audiophile tube amps producing this sort of drive usually cost well over the price of these! They really do respond to a truly balanced end-to-end setup, so fire up that balanced Preamp and invest in some quality XLR cables (I preferred a copper/silver mix to all silver, however (as always) each system and ear is different)!! I have all the original boxing and packaging. I worry about posting, even with proper factory packaging, but can do if needed. Tubes may need to be removed and padded up). You will need to get your own power cords (although I can throw in some cheapies, however I'd recommend something to match their quality). I have been very loving of them. They have always been allowed to warm up prior to use (they really come on song after about an hour ideally). They will definitely benefit from a couple of heavy & solid isolation platforms to sit on. They certainly sound a whole lot better (especially mid range) with the PrimaLuna (silver edition) tubes, compared to the set of KT94's that came with them. All my gear runs off a power conditioner. Please note that the power output needle on (I seem to recall the right channel) one amp does not work. It was not working when I got them (I am the second owner), and does not affect sound of course. I have not looked into getting it fixed, however I am sure this could easily be done. I may get the opportunity to have it looked at next week if time permits. You'll note the little doors on the sides of each amp. They come off with an allen key (supplied), and you need a basic multimeter (I'll throw in with the sale) in order to bias each tube. There is a bias screw next to each corresponding power tube (see pics). It's really easy, and according to Mr.Fang you can decide your output preferences. These amps can produce a lot more power, but it's up to the listener what their preferences are. Notably, the PrimaLunas went in and needed very little (if any) bias adjusting (ie. a matched Octet!). http://www.primaluna-usa.com/tube-rolling These amps go very easy on tubes (if standard biasing is applied), so they should last ages. These monsters are big and heavy and beautiful: - around 30kg each - packaging adds 2kg each - size (each in cm) is 46w, 22h, 30w - colour is silver aluminium with clear perspex lids I will happily arrange for an audition only for those truly intending to buy (amps are currently not in use). I live in inner-north of Melbourne. Price will be formalised before this happens (I don't want to spend ages working through critical listening, only for someone to try to lowball me. I am sure you all understand (and I will negotiate on price if required and reasonable), but it's happened too many times before). I am always very light-on for time (it took me 3 months after having stored the amps to get around to this ad!), so please do your own research. Price is negotiable, however it reflects age, condition, use, rarity and a $1400 tube set! Don't let them pass you by if you've been thinking of high powered tubes but the prices have held you back. Given this sort of quality and the bliss into which you will plunge, they represent tube heaven at this price range in my opinion. Happy listening! Mat
