Further information: Philips Miniwatt SQ E88CC / 6922 Gold Pin tubes made in Holland in 1969. SQ stands for Special Quality and was only given to tubes that passed stringent quality standards. Made in the Heerlan plant in Holland, these tubes are known for their lush, almost liquid midrange. They exhibit a sweet top end and are very 3 dimensional. In my system - really close to the Siemens CCAs, at a fraction of the cost. Greetings. I am just after some advice. I purchase about a month ago a pair of wharfedale 10.1 diamonds and also a miniwatt n3 (appj) tube amplifier. I am relatively new to hi fi so wasnt that familiar with product matching etc. I have been happy with the sound, but am finding it hard to listen to as i feel the sound is missing something. Its got great mids but i feel like the lower end is not there, so I tend to analyze the sound more than enjoying it. Can anyone suggest anything to remedy this ? My option unfortunately will be to purchase a new amp. I have been looking a long the lines of the rotel ra-10 or the music hall a15.2 (if i can find one). Any other suggestions would be appreciated around the $400 mark. Also is there anyway to get more bass etc by running it through a pre-amp before running it through the miniwatt? Thanks

Hey, Im looking at spending a bit of money on my current system but Im not sure where its best spent. My current system is a project 3 debut with ortofon 2m blue cartridge, pro-ject tube box ii phono, miniwatt n3 tube amp, wharefdale 10.1 speakers. I am interested in the lounge mkiii phono amp after reading good reviews, but then I think is the money better off going to a new TT or getting a more powerful amplifier ? What would yield the best results in the chain.....? Any advice and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Cheers Chris
