  1. Further Information: Unfortunately need to sell most of the stuff in my theatre, including this Marantz SR7012 Receiver. It's been absolutely flawless since I've had it, and it's served me very very well, I'm sad to see it go. No issues with it at all, I've had a 5.1.4 setup hooked up to it since purchase and it all sounds fantastic. Welcome to come over and demo it before purchase, though I also have the projector for sale here and if either that sells, or I move the speakers (they're going to a friend), or it's past mid-May ish (when we move), that may not be possible. I'm not worried about the buyer being disappointed with it though to be honest. I also have the original box. (It's not scratches on the front FYI, it's just a brushed aluminium material) 9 Channel 200 Watts power 4K / 60 Hz Full-rate pass-through, 4:4:4 colour Resolution High Dynamic Range (HDR), BT.2020, Dolby Vision and HLG pass-through 8 HDMI Inputs Analogue to HDMI Conversion Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D Wi-Fi and Bluetooth HEOS AirPlay Spotify Connect, TIDAL DSD 5.6 MHz Audyssey MultiEQ XT2 Remote App Advanced Multiroom features
  2. Extra Info: seeking wooden case to suit a Vintage Marantz 2330, case model is WC-43
  3. Hi! First time posting here! I’m looking for purchasing advice in relation to the Richter Mentor V speakers. I have a Pro-ject Debut Carbon Esprit and a Marantz 2252b and I’m looking at the Mentors to replace Klipsch R15M speakers that I got to start my system off. There’s a bit of information/reviews on the smaller Merlin’s online, but not too much info on the Mentors. Does anyone have any opinions or sage wisdom in relation to the Mentors and how they would go with my setup? Cheers
  4. Further Information: Hi, this is basically a re-badged “Clearaudio” turntable. Something similar in there Range. This is Marantz’s return table, last one made over 20 years ago. Comes with a MM cartridge on a high quality tone-arm, super quite motor, thick heavy Acrylic platter on a acrylic plinth with isolation feet, google to find more info online. delivery anywhere in Australia included in the price. I have the original double box.
  5. Further Information: This is a lovely 1980's tuner that sounded gorgeous and looked the part for the last 15 years. At some point it developed a tuning issue, which I had repaired by CVE in Coburg. I wasn't very happy with the job, it worked properly for a week and then developed a hum. I was then away in the UK and couldn't take it back. Silver colour. Gyroscopic tuning wheel runs smoothly. Very satisfying to use. I am not sure what is wrong with it, but I no longer want to deal with CVE. The receipt for $150 for the repair is shown. This is probably an easy fix for someone who knows what they are doing. I am only after the cost of repair (approx) and then I'm sure it we be lovingly restored by you or someone you know. I've gone digital now, which isn't as much fun and doesn't sound as good - but space being space, you know the deal?! Have fun, pick up is in Brunswick. Postage to other states considered.
  6. Further Information: Hopefully will have success on this platform selling my Marantz SR5015 receiver which has been well taken care of used in a dark air condition room with an external Marantz 7 channel power amp as the speaker drive unit. Have all necessary original packaging including manual and other materials. Photo shows it with Isoacustic feet however unit will be sold with original feet and also the EGM usb cap is also excluded from sale. Regrettable bought a Marantz SR6015 at an okay new price that is replacing my SR5015, some say I should have bought a Marantz Cinema 50 which is the new platform it’s just a bit of a price jump between the SR6015 and Cinema 50 for me; anyways now I have to sell my SR5015 now. I believe the price I am asking is fair. Would prefer a local pickup but if you want it shipped we will discuss that. Any questions just ask. As seen in photos unit is in excellent condition no damage or major scratches.
  7. Mint condition, quality Marantz SR6012 avr with original accessories (as per pictures). This unit has the well known and justified Marantz sound for both MUSIC and MOVIES combined with their great build quality. The unit has been used in a 5.1.4 atmos set up once a week in a small HT room, smoke, pet and children free. The unit has 9 internal amps but can process 11 channels if you add an external stereo amplifier. examples of set ups that can be used include: 2.0 (stereo listening) 5.1/7.1 (basic surround sound with 1 or 2 subwoofers) 5.1.2, 5.1.4 (using 2 or 4 atmos speakers with 1 sub) or 5.2.2, 5.2.4 (same atmos with 2 subwoofers) 7.1.2, 7.1.4 (using 2 or 4 atmos speakers with 1 sub/external amp) or 7.2.2, 7.2.4 (same atmos with 2 subwoofers/external amp) Top of the line Audyssey xt32 for room EQ and correct single or multiple subwoofer set up. this unit has 2 independent sub outs, dont get confused with lower level avr's that have 2 sub outs but are actually just a single line that has been split internally and cant eq 1 or 2 subs correctly. Output: Watts RMS per Channel (6 Ω) 185 Watts Watts RMS per Channel (8 Ω) 110 Watts The Marantz SR6012 comes with premium internal components and design including AKM AK4458 32-bit D/A converters. (note: this unit has the higher level AKM AK4458 DAC's not the outsourced alternatives used after the AKM factory fire). Marantz specialized HDAM engineering, Current Feedback circuitry Hybrid PLL Clock Jitter Reducer. 4K/60 Hz full-rate pass-through, 4:4:4 color resolution, HDR and BT.2020. Dolby Vision compatibility and Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) AirPlay, Bluetooth, Internet Radio, Spotify Connect, Network Audio Streaming eARC (Enhanced Audio Return channel; via future firmware update) Access to Marantz app (free download) Audyssey editor app for even more EQ options($31 download) Online Audio Services Support : Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Deezer, Amazon Music Sound formats: Dolby® Sound Technology Dolby® Atmos™, Dolby® TrueHD, Dolby® Surround DTS™ Technology DTS:X™, DTS Neural:X™, DTS-HD™ Master Audio Smart Voice Assistant: Works with Alexa, Works with Google Assistant, Works with Siri Plus many more features. My Opinion based on use: - this unit has been used once a week for 3 hours for playing physical media (bluray/usb movies) and kept covered and powered off when not in use (never left on standby) - Marantz and DENON are owned by the same company but they are quite different. The SR6012 is a superior avr in all areas that i experienced: Build Quality including better speaker binding posts, internal construction HDAM, runs cooler due to better internal design, good power output, far better for music, good channel separation for surround sound in movies and even the remote is laid out better. I am happy to discuss the sale and answer valid questions, do a basic demo, with any genuine buyer. SALE CONDITIONS: Pick up: cash only Pick up must be within 24 hours of sale No third party pick ups (scammers) you pick up you pay, not arranged by another person. Freight: EFT transfer, to be transferred at time of sale. Paypal can be accepted (paypal fee added to price) payment at time of sale. I can suggest using Transdirect website for quotes as they have a list of freight companies. I use TNT Express and Couriers Please, both have depots nearby, and i can drop the avr into a depot if they are used. Happy to work in with a buyer but in the end you must decide how the item will be shipped and insured. Item will be packed in a strong avr box and padded, labelled very well. Item will not be shipped until any and all purchase/costs are confirmed and cleared, sale is final. Thank you
  8. Hi everyone, I have a vintage Marantz amplifier that I reckon has an issue. After using it for less than 30 minutes with a turntable in the phono input it feels very hot to the touch and recently has had a rather unpleasant smell coming from it too. Does anyone have any experience with this and/or is there a good repair or service place in the Melbourne area I may be able to take it to? Thanks in advance
  9. So I have 2 of these amps and both have issues. The first one was running fine for some time then occasionally the relay would click and the sound would cut out. Eventually it got worse. Sometimes I would have to turn it on and wait a couple of minutes for the relay to fire before any sound would come out. Then it eventually stopped eorking altogether. The other issue is that it won't remember the saved setting if left for any period of time longer than a day or 2. I assumed it was a capacitor issue going by the fact it's old and how it gradually got worse. I pulled it apart and replaced all the large capacitors on the main board but the relay issue is not resolved. I have not checked the settings issue as it doesn't output any sound so I put it aside. I aquired another one and it works but also has the same issue with saving settings. I like these amps because of the built in graphic equalizer. Any suggestions on what it could be other than caps?
  10. Hi Yesterday I was indulging in my regular afternoon of disc spinning. Inspired by Currently Spinning I gave the DBT A Southern Rock Opera a good airing (read play it loud) given the bride was out shopping. Act 1 went off without a hitch. Put on Act 2 listening through to the tragic ending. Wife arrived home so out I went to bring in the shopping, on return to the CD player I pressed eject..... no CD. Thought I must be having a Seniors moment. Retraced the steps.... no CD. Put another in the tray and it played. Did my head in. Not long after had to go out but it had me puzzled. Got out up this morning determined to get to the bottom of it. Now me and screwdrivers or any tools for that matter do not have a good relationship so it was with some trepidation that I set to work on the Pearl Lite and endeavoured to see if my mind was in tact or if I was already on the slippery slope! What did it reveal....... Yes in in the immortal words of Ms Chaberlain “this thingo ate my CD!” Now that I know that I wasn’t going mad, has this happened to anyone here before? I have owned the Marantz from new for nearly four years without any problems. It is a great player for discs and as a dac and I love the sound. Anyway now where did I leave my glasses?
  11. After about a year of use, my second hand Marantz SR-96 has been outputting a distorted audio signal out of the left channel. I know it's not the speakers or the speaker cable because it distorts when head phones are plugged in as well; It also distorts all the inputs. Does anyone know what the problem is? If/how I can prevent it from happening any longer? Cheers
  12. I have a Marantz CR611 that is powering my B&W 685 S2s. I'm hopeful to get a 2-3K tax return in a few months and am wondering if a Power Amp would help things? Ideally, I'd like a Power Amp that would support two zones if there is such a Power Amp. These are to power my outdoor speakers. What are your thoughts?
  13. Hello! I've recently come into possession of a Marantz TT-130 - I've already got a Marantz TT-1200 and not sure which one I should connect to my set-up! My light googling reveals that neither the 130 or 1200 were anything special in terms of collectors items, but nothing about which one was 'better'. Before i spend the money replacing the belt and stylus on the TT-130 - does anyone know if this is a better tt than the 1200? Thanks!
  14. Dear fellow members, My Marantz AV7701 started to have a mind of its own and now is continuously restarting on/off. There is a YouTube clip of another with the same issue so it seems to be a common problem. Comments below on YouTube from another poster suggested it is the PSU. Here is the clip (it's not me btw :-) ): The question I would like to ask, it is worth spending to repair or just save and spend on top for a new unit? I mean at least I would assume the repair may be around the $400 mark .. Even if the repair is good, usually warranties from the repair mob is not very long. As we all know that a replacement Prepro will not be cheap. 4K passthrough is not that important (although it does supports it however 4K@30p) I am in Melbourne and I believe JLS electronics is pretty good. Has anyone been in this dilemma? What would you advise. Thanks for your time. Cheers
  15. Hi guys I have a Marantz PM450 console amplifier, the one that accommodates 2 turntables with a fader knob to select between them. It became known as the Party Amp! Unfortunately, the right channel is distorted and sounds like the speaker is playing under water. I've tested the speakers and cables and they are fine. I've cleaned all the pots and re-soldered the 4 transistors under the big heatsink, but this hasn't fixed the issue. The issue appears when playing turntables, tuner and tape and affects the right channel of both A and B channels. I would be grateful for any pointers on how to go about resolving this. Thanks
  16. I'm just enquiring as to which would be best suited overall for running to my Audio Monitor Silver 500 Floorstanders? I know there are several factors involved but general opion & advice would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.
  17. Hi, I am currently experiencing some issues with the network card in my Marantz SR7005 would anyone know where i might be able to obtain a replacement network card? Cheers!
  18. G'day folks! New member and first post. ? Picked up a Marantz 1060 and wanted your thoughts on suitability for restoration. Doesn't look like it's been messed about with so I'm guessing all components are original and more than a little tired! Currently the RH channel is dead and adjusting the VR does not shift the DC offset from 2.2mv. LH channel adjusted fine to 7.5mv. I'd really value your opinions on weak points in this amp and where to begin troubleshooting. Happy to recap and upgrade electrolytics but any other components I should look to change out immediately? I've a little experience with vintage Sansui but this is my first Marantz. I know the early Sansui AU series had an issue with noise transistors but I'm struggling to find articles on Marantz 1060 rebuilds. I'd rather not have to order a rebuild kit from the US as it would double the cost of my amp! Happy to source locally RS, Element 14 so if anyone has a rebuild parts list from these suppliers, that would be awesome. A couple of photos - fairly clean inside and have seen a lot worse! It's a lovely looking amp and from what I hear from 1 speaker, sounds warm but punchy. A big ask for my first post and grateful for any tips please. Cheers, Brad
  19. Marantz SR6012 vs Denon 4500 Looking forward to upgrade my AVR. Between above two AVR which has good hardware configuration? Currently using Denon 520BT for 3 years. Happy with the Sound signature. Thank you
  20. So i scored a Marantz PM8000. Excellent condition, I'm currently running a pair of Richter wizards MK1, it sounds quite brash, I also tried the speakers on a rotel A11 and it was worse. What speakers would you lads run with this amp? budget is around 2000. And I cant find to much information on this amp, It is a Class A amp with 95watts per channel.
  21. Hi all, I am interested in Denon and Marantz new Hi-Fi products, nice to meet you all
  22. Hi All, I'm currently building a system and have a pair of dynaudio dm 2/6 speakers, I was just wondering what would be a good amp to match these? I'm on a bit of a budget so the two I was considering was the Marantz PM6004 or the Rotel RA-10. Does anyone have any views on these or is there something else I should be looking at? Cheers
  23. Hello fellow members, Thought I would introduce myself as a new member. I am a Melbournian in fact I live in the CBD (heart of the business precinct). I have just returned to vinyl collecting after a 20 year absence (about 6 months ago) and like everything else I do I have thrown myself into it with a passion. I have already cherry picked about 150 records (a lot of which I tossed out when I was in my early teens in favour of CD's *sigh*) and I have just purchased: Mordaunt Short Carnival 6 Floorstanding Speakers Pioneer Rondo Denon 300F Automatic Turntable (too lazy to get a manual one, picked this up at CAV) and a Marantz PM7004 amp (wanted Japanese made so hunted down this freshly discontinued gem at Klapp Audio, Windsor) Litecase LP Roadcases (great way of storing vinyl!) Cheers, nje
  24. Hello everyone, I enjoy collecting Marantz equipment from the 1970's I enjoy music of all kinds. My collection so far is, 104 tuner 2215,2230,2245 receiver 1120,1152DC intergrated amp They all work well and at this time I listen to the 1120 the most. Have a Nice Day -john
