  2. Collected this baby Luxman amplifier a few months back from a local seller. What he said was his father owned a HiFi shop in Melbourne long back and this was an unsold unit. Later it became their garage music setup when he shutdown the shop. He said it is not used much and was sitting packed and unused for very long years. Anyway I thought of giving it a go as I found some interesting information about this amplifier. * It is from late 60s when the tube amps era was approaching the end. * The successor of Luxman SQ77 vaccum tube amplifier. (Shares amlost similar appearence and switch pattern). * Uses germanium transistors than silicon transistors. Me got some free time last week and decided to take him to beauty parlour . Cleaned the face plate, applied some wood polish on the case, cleaned the switches with deoxit and cleaned internal circuits with a blower and soft brush (Ladies face beauty application brush). And it looks like this ! . . . Inside the Amplifier ! . . . Rear panel of SQ77T - The speaker connections looks totally different and I can't find any adaptors in local shops or ebay. The transistors - All four transistors are same Bendix B-170007 (The original ones ). Managed to test it two days back by touching the speaker wires at the terminals on different inputs. What I have observed is the sound is a bit scratchy and the level varies on different inputs. The left channel on AUX1 sounds good to me and it remains same even if I interchange the left and right channel using the knob in front panel. Anyone here able to help me in diagnosing this issue as I'm not technically sound in electronics? Dry capacitors the culprit here? Anyway I'm planning to give it a full restoration, but it will be good if I could have an idea of the issue before approaching the technician. Thanks in advance!
  3. Item: Luxman SQ77T Location: Melbourne Price: $580 Item Condition: I tried to test it max from my side and found different sound output levels on different input connections (Scratchy on few inputs), the level differs in L & R channels also which doesn't change when reversing L & R channels using the front control knob. Proper cleaning using a contact cleaner should fix this issue as it was sitting idle for a pretty long time. Reason for selling: Going for a new audio setup and in need of cash. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD. Extra Info: SQ77T amplifier marked an end to the tube amplifiers from Luxman. These amplifiers are almost no more and there won't be any other chance to own this rare beauty in absolute original condition. All original components including the four germanium transistors (Bendix B-170007), I bet you won't find any other unit like this. It was kept very well packed and unused for last 30 plus year. Operates on 240v 50Hz. Pictures:
  4. Item: Luxman SQ77T Location: Melbourne Price: $250 firm Item Condition: Except the wooden polish applied on the wood case, everything is original and untouched condition. Different inputs behave differently. Few inputs give scratchy sound, few give only one channel output. Will probably need recapping the unit as the electrolytic caps are almost 50years old. Reason for selling: In need of fund for another purchase. Payment Method: Bank deposit, Paypal(Covering PayPal commission or as a friend), COD. Extra Info: Beautiful Luxman from their early production of transistor based amplifiers. This was a dream project for me as it is a quite different amplifier in original condition. It was listed some time back but my mind got changed and pulled the trigger back. In need of fund for another project now. Pictures:
