  1. This is a well-built 5V / 2A linear power supply. I used it to power a Raspberry Pi 3B with digital audio HAT as part of my Roon setup. I've relocated the gear to a new location that doesn't suit the higher heat generated by a Linear PSU. As you can see, there are two outputs on the front: USB-A and coaxial DC. I used the USB-A output. Item works fine. All-metal housing with plenty of heat-sinking. Supplied with IEC mains cable but no DC cable. Full details available from the (continuing) eBay listing. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/264255536988 Can be bought new and shipped to Oz for AUD125 landed (by comparison).
  2. This is a well-made linear power supply with output suited to many applications (12V / 6A). I used this to power my Burson Playmate (Class A headphone amp) for a year or so, but relocated the gear to an enclosed space not suited to the higher heat generation of a linear power supply. Could be used for any device requiring 12V and drawing up to 6A. Unit can still be bought new on eBay, for around AUD307 landed. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/122728397679 From the eBay listing: Single-pass, series regulator design. No IC (integrated circuits) are used. This allows complete design control over all operating points and parameters for superior performance. Low noise, high PSRR A constant-current source feeds a zener diode as a stable voltage reference. A low-pass filter (with a corner frequency of 1.6Hz) prevents zener noise from being introduced into the error amplifier. This is an effective yet lower-cost alternative to expensive voltage reference ICs. The low-pass filter also provides a soft-start characteristic. The output noise (unloaded) is less than 13µV at 24VDC output (measured using a Tangent LNMP (low-noise measurement preamplifier) and a Fluke 187 50000-count DMM in ACmV mode). The output noise is even less when the output voltage is lower. This is much better than the noise of an IC regulator based PSU tested under identical conditions. The error amplifier is a discrete implementation of an opamp with a high open-loop gain of 102.5dB. The voltage supply to the error amplifier is isolated with capacitance multipliers to boost its PSRR (power supply rejection ratio). This greatly improves the line regulation performance of the PSU. A long-tailed pair differential amplifier with current mirror and constant current source forms the first stage of the error amplifier. The second stage is the voltage amplification stage (VAS), also with constant current source load. The 3rd stage is comprised of the power MOSFET output devices configured as a source follower. High-current MOSFET pass transistors Two paralleled high-current, highly reliable MOSFETs (rated at 18A each) serve as the "pass" transistor. The high current rating provides a very high safety headroom against overcurrent damage. The use of paralleled MOSFETs divides the heat dissipation, simplifying thermal management. Onboard heatsinks can be used which would allow the this PSU to supply up to 1A continuous (with much higher peak currents). More sustained currents are possible by using larger, offboard heatsinks. The negative temperature coefficient of MOSFETs prevents damaging Fully functional, in great condition. Well-made, in anodized cabinet with ample heatsinks on the sides for the voltage regulators. Substantial toroidal transformer and other electronics inside. Comes with IEC mains cable, braided DC cable fitted with plug to suit Playmate. Easily changed to whatever you require. I have no packaging. Pickup preferred. Can post at your expense. Weighs a few kg.
  3. This is a well-made linear power supply with output suited to Intel NUC (19V/4.2A). I used this to power my Roon ROCK (home-assembled Roon server) for a year or so, but relocated the gear to an enclosed space not suited to the higher heat generation of a linear power supply. Unit can still be bought new on eBay, for around AUD307 landed. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/192495699259 From the eBay listing: Single-pass, series regulator design. 8. Item: Gieseler Audio Linear PSU - two available Location: Sydney Price: See below Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Downsized my setup, so these are no longer being used. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Both come with 5.5mm x 2.1mm DC output plugs. Both come with their external AC transformer. $200 with free postage for the 5Vdc / 7Vdc / 9Vdc at 1.5Amp output unit - these 3 voltages can be adjusted via internal jumper SOLD $230 with free postage for the 9Vdc / 12Vdc / 15Vdc at 1.5Amp output unit - these 3 voltages can be adjusted via internal jumper SOLD From the Gieseler Audio website: This linear low noise DC power supply is designed to improve the performance of digital audio accessory devices that are normally powered by small SMPS plug-packs. All the internal components are of high quality & are selected for reliability & sound quality where applicable. Capacitors are Nichicon Fine Gold, Panasonic or Elna Silmic II’s. It is powered by external IE core transformers. These have a distinct advantage over the usual Toroidal type as they have better isolation between the windings & lower bandwidth means less HF noise coming in via the mains. Also being external there is less radiated hum entering the power supply circuitry. Noise, hum & ripple levels are very low due to the common mode choke pre filtering & low noise Linear Technology high performance regulators. Also what helps to reduce noise as well is the use of Schottky diodes & a transformer LC snubber. The DC output cable/connection is an area that is often neglected; so I have gone to extra lengths here to get it right. The DC output on the supply uses a Neutrik 6 Amp XLR gold pin socket. The supplied DC cable uses a matching Neutrik gold pin plug hand soldered to a 10A lead with moulded DC barrel connector for ruggedness. Photos:
  9. Item: Empirical Audio Synchro-Mesh 24/96 SPDIF reclocker and linear 12V PSU with Superteddyreg low noise regulator Location: Sydney Price: $510 + Postage Item Condition: Very Good Reason for selling: Thinking of going the USB route Payment Method: Paypal (add 3.5% unless sent as personal transaction with PP balance or linked bank account), Bank transfer. Extra Info: Up for sale is a Empirical Audio Synchro-Mesh 24/96 and linear 12V PSU with Superteddyreg low noise regulator PSU that i bought from a SNA member. This is a 24/96 version that can output 16 or 24 bit in 96khz (There is a toggle switch). Works fine with my CD player and Squeezebox unit. Doesnt seem to like 192hz signal input but i believe if you want a true 24/192 reclocker then you would need need empirical audio more expensive device. Lots of users reported great improvements on a bunch of streamers such as their Sonos or apple tv/airport system. Linear power supply is a 12V PSU with Superteddyreg low noise regulator. It has been checked up by the builder (AJ) recently and the internal connection has been tighten up and tweaked a little as it gotten loose during transport. Umbilical cord provided to connect the linear psu to the synchromesh (as shown in picture) however you will need to provide your own mains IEC power cord (just the normal pc power supply power cord)for the linear psu Original SMPS power supply for the syncro mesh is also provided. If you want to do pickup then its possible to do so during business hours close to Macquarie park rail station.
