Listen for hours without even a hint of fatigue. They are known for their lush but natural sounding midrange which is just so euphonic, especially on vocals. Instrument timbre, again, so natural and life like. I love them. I am looking to upgrade to either a Wilson, bigger Harbeth or Sonus Faber. If budget allowed I would not be putting them up for sale. They come with all the original paperwork, receipts and original boxes so will be packaged safely. Happy to ship provided buyer organises courier. Purchased from Class A audio. YES, so you need to build a nice widely clear network highway for your music data, these are all in your home LAN, so you’ll need high speed network to save the time, and also need to ensure your signal quality won’t be damaged, as you already have the great music sources, we don’t want to jeopardize it during the transmission! A: Then the Expert Player/Streamer, a streamer would sound differently over Wi-Fi or hard wired with Ethernet cable from your router. The Ethernet cable between your router and streamer changes the sound quality... the devil is in the details.   5. I think this is a very good, yet controversial topic to discuss, firstly, don’t get me wrong, I adore CD music as well, I solely would like to throw a thread to make discussion, that’s it. Let’s look at this thing “ objectively “, normally CD players got sampling rate at 44.1KHz/16bit for PCM data, music streamers nowadays got sampling rate at 192KHz/24bit or higher for PCM or DSD data(so-called “ Hi-Res “ audio), so given the sampling rate comparison, it seems that a music streamer literally serves better sound quality than a CD player, right? However, if that’s a damn fact, how come still lots of people out there fighting for which is better for music playing, so CD player does have its audio merits, shorter data transmission path, connect to a DAC then to speakers, easy and fun, but as mentioned, Hi-Res audio got higher sampling rate, which indicates that it’s got more music details, more music data stored, so it’s understandable one should gear up more equipment to play this music data through a music streamer properly. As one might wonder, why bother making listing to music such a complex job, fairly good point, lets’ do some simple pros and cons then. *CD Music* Pros: Easy to apply, and serves fair sound quality, immersive and loveable. Cons: One CD can’t serve many songs, lacking flexibility and convenience, due to lowers sampling rate, some music detail might be ignored. *Streaming Music* Pros: Versatile choices, easy to obtain, listening to different genres to fit different mood in seconds, more details and dynamics. Cons: Somewhat difficult to understand how to play it “ right “, too many gears to equip, certainly cost higher than a CD system (if you are a extreme audiophile). Generally speaking, I don’t actually see which conquers which lol, everyone has his/her own taste, no? if you like it easy and “ less technological “, CD would be adequate indeed; if you like it challenging and “ more audiophile-like “, streaming music is your pal. For me, Vinyl is a whole other level, people adore its quintessential spirit, it’s gonna last forever as long as people still treasure this divine audio essence, but it’s just too expensive and way harder to get the desired one lol… Personally speaking, as a dude in his early 30’s, I’ve been in love with CD music for sure, it’s classic, it’s cool, it’s the ancestor of digital music, but as the innovative technology keeps cornering me with its appealing convenience, I failed to be loyal to my CD soul… I stated to adopt streaming audio system 3 years ago, yes, at first it was hard to understand what the heck is going with all the “ new stuff “, such as music server, network switch, linear power supply, even the audio cable for network and power connections, let along the audio operating app, I was like, oh man I don’t think I’ll be able to learn all this shxt, but my curiosity of the freaking “ Hi-Fi “ and “ Hi-Red “ drove me to learn and try, well, you reap what you sow, after 1 year, I finally geared up my own audio system… Was it perfect? Hell no. Was it lousy? It’s alright, Was it worth learning? YES, so now I can write this article, no? lol… Anyways, I do enjoy listening to music via a streamer, it’s damn convenient and versatile with the whole different streaming services, but, I still listen to CD music every now and then, it’s still got its spirit actually, cuz some music does actually perform better via CD player, it’s classic, it’s lovable, so does expert music streamer outrun CD player, my answer is 70% YES, 30% NO!   7. 1. How the signals affect AV Equipment? If your are a vintage lover, you must’ve seen the picture below as known as “ Snow Screen “ with the humming sounds. No matter you saw it on movies or you had it when you were a kid, haven’t you ever wondered why the screen shows that? This kind of old-fashioned tv receives the satellite signals through antennas above it or on your house rooftop, which it’s easily to be affected by the natural causes, the weather, the RF radiations, the refrigerator, or even a toaster, all the electronic devices have it’s own radiation exposed in the air which can’t be seen by human eyes. Like heavy traffic jam, when all these signals jammed together, your AV device won’t be too happy, however, as the technology evolving so fast, it’s rare to see the picture like that, clearly presents how the interference affect the equipment. Back in the old day, your grandpa might just slap the tv surface or fiddle the antennas to make it function again, now this classic scene belongs to the history already, but why if the satellite signals aren’t received, the tv can still present the “ Snow Screen “ , instead of all black. Well, among all the existing interference, there’re a few can’t be eliminated, and they are the oldest ones, which appeared at the same time as The Big Bang of The Universe. This kind of noise is from the universe, it’s everywhere, and it recorded how the universe was formed, they’re called Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) , the wavelength is 7.35 mm, we’re fortunate to witness the very first light in the universe, aren’t we? Thanks to the old tv!!! But, Actually the CMB is only accounted for less than 1% of the whole interference, as I mentioned from other electronic devices in your home, and the EMI from the earth, the pulsar signal from the universe, the Hawking radiation from the black holes, and so on. Let’s see more Why Power Source is so important? Just think of the power source as the bloodstream of the AV device, and think of the AV device as the human body. If the bloodstream in your body is messy, how would you feel and how would you react? Luckily, you’re able to manage it yourself, to change the diet, to exercise, to have medication and stuff, but for AV equipment, they can’t do such things, hence, we have to help them to have a good quality bloodstream, so that we’ll have the desired performance from them. Plus, music is a real sensitive thing, even the electronic device can sense it! Given the data comparison, I think it’s obvious to see how a good network switch can optimize the audio quality, if you want to upgrade your audio system, network is important! So What makes a good audio system? I know there are lots of articles out there talking about network switch is a nonsense and power source is all the same served by the government, no use to upgrade them, you should be focusing on the DAC, Amp, speakers, and such. Well, I wouldn’t say it’s all wrong, because it is indeed critical to take care of the DAC, Amp, Speakers, after all, human ears still only can hear the analog signals. But if you don’t take good care of the front parts of the audio system, which are the source part, the power, the network, the streamer, you won’t have too great audio quality in the end, you’ve got to keep the music source pure, intact, lossless, before it turning into analog signals then to your ears. Plus you can actually see the interference difference by the testing device, the scientific proofs exist, also all the users’ reviews around the globe exist, what else can we possible do more to convince people that “ Power and Network Matter “ in a audio system. So what makes a good audio system? There’s no fixed answer, as the music enjoyment is subjective, but one thing I do know is that if you care the audio source enough, them you’d get good feedback from the audio sounds!

Hi guys, It's just sorta a general wondering, so recently I've been thinking about purchasing a NAS for audio storage and stuff, I used to just simply store music with USB, but I read some articles about NAS, it seems to me that most audiophiles possess one to cooperate with their Hi-Fi gear at home, so maybe it does help further improve the sound quality(? As you all may know, there are several brands of NAS out there, which one is the best fit for me as a NAS newbie haha? Hi guys, When it comes to sound quality, I've realized there're freaking many factors could affect it, some say the DAC is the paramount thing to be taken care of; some say the speakers are the real crucial part, given that you hear all the sounds from them, there's no certain right or wrong here I'd say, after all, " Sound Quality " is absolutely subjective... I'd like to know which section would you invest more? cuz I read that some power cables are more expensive than speakers, I was pretty impressed by that though, I'm sure the know-how must be real high-class, or some people even rearrange the wire management in the households, or even spend tons of money on router or network switch! For me, I might invest more on the " Power " part though, I mean, let's face it, all electronic gears require power signals, not just audio system, it's like bloodstream to them, so if the power source is stable & strong enough, I imagine that the high-end audio gears would have better performance(? that's why people use external linear power supply rather than a simple power adaptor hahaha. Hi guys, So I've been meaning to ask if there's an optimal way to stream these streaming service, if you know what I mean..., like some players which directly support TIDAL or Qobuz or Amazon Music and stuff, but what if I stream TIDAL through Roon, would the sound quality get better? and why? I know that Roon does a lot of signal purification jobs during the whole transmitting process, still, I'm very much confused hahaha, since the cloud service is the original place of the music files, no? how come during the transmission the sound could be optimized!? If that's a true fact that it's possible to level up the sound quality better than the original, so the theory can also be applying on the hardware parts I presume, like I can buy an real nice hi-end router to upgrade the network quality from the beginning, then the DC power supply, audio grade network switch, specialized cables, all the way to speakers, is that right?

  16. Hello guys, So after some struggles between spending time in optimizing my PC audio functionalities and adopting a dedicated music streamer, I opted for the second one. I purchased the Munich M1T by Silent Angel, given it's good reviews in UK and Germany and Switzerland, I thought it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot, but frankly speaking, the mainly reason was because the price fits my wallet more hahahah... Anyways, so there are several digital outputs on its back panel, AES/EBU; I2S(HDMI), Coaxial, USB Audio, hell hahah, I have literally no idea which one is better or which can provide a special feature or something, I mean it does show that the USB Audio supports up to up to PCM 768KHz and DSD 11.2M (DSD256), but does that the higher the sampling rate, the better the sound quality? I just can't make sure... And if the USB Audio can provide the " best " digital sound quality, then why added other ports? Ain't that just costing more on the manufacturing end? Hope you guys can give some insights on this, or share some of your experiences, because this is the first time I saw an AES/EBU port on a audio streamer... Best,

Wouldn't say I'm a sole PC Hi-FI dude, by recently I've been seeing a lot of reviews and articles talking about using a audio streamer to play music can certainly outperform PC playing, like the sound quality and stuff. I normally use Roon to play music by my PC, which is not bad, but of course not heavenly I'd say haha... anyways, so recently I did some researches about some audio streamer/media transport with fair prices, there's one called Munich M1T, the price is worth a shot, and it's Roon Ready certified, but I'm just still hesitating that if I should buy it. Hi y'all, So me and my pal came up with an idea about testing our own " streaming system " and see which is better, but yeah ofc, there can only be one variable, otherwise the test wouldn't be fair, no? we decided to only change the streamer/player in each test, well luckily, my friend who happens to be an ultimate PC Hi-Fi fanatic, so the test itself which became rather easy haha, equipment-wise for sure. Last Sunday, we were just chilling in my living room and chitchatting, he said he wanted to listen to some new modern pop song, so I played Shiver by Ed Sheeran, and he said the dynamics don't seem quite enough, I was like what the heck do you mean, and he said his system could present more details in the music than mine, anyways, so I brought my streamer over to his place, and would like to have a competition hahaha. As I mentioned, he's a PC Hi-Fi dude, so he's done a lot modifications and all that upgrade stuff to his PC, so he used USB port to connect to his DAC and the rest to play the same song, Shiver by Ed, well truth to be told, I also thought the dynamics weren't quite sufficient as well lol, ofc he said my perception was biased bc he judged my system first, thus, we both agreed to play some more complicated tracks, like classic genre or something, however, both of us aren't that much of a elegant music admirer I'd say, which I sincerely hope you guys can share some nice songs with me!!! BTW, we both played TIDAL via Roon, the only difference is just he used PC, I used Munich M1T, no network switch or linear power supply attached. Best,
