  1. Keith (or cheekyboy as he is known in these parts) has kindly sent me a Majestic preamp and 2 Proprius monoblocks as part of the Graham Slee loaner program. Loaner programs are great, as I'm discovering, you get to play with new toys for a few weeks for only the cost of the postage (both ways guys, best to get that out there now, both ways) and that is a no brain-er in my opinion. I haven't had the Slee gear for long enough to do a full write up yet I just thought I'd start on the process ahead of time and throw in a pic or two to keep the visual-ites amongst us happy. There they are, dwarfed by those two disc spinners of mine. The little Majestic is both a DAC and a pre and, as I have found out, has a massive amount of gain. I don't think I've taken the volume control past 8 o'clock yet, there just hasn't been a need. The two Proprius monoblocks are actually smaller than a carton of cigarettes (that's a carton, not a pack, they may be small but they aren't that small!). They are actually only slightly larger than their power supplies. My initial impressions are extremely positive, the sound quality is excellent and the musical capability of this system is in no way related to its physical size. I'll throw in a couple of shots of the Majestic because I think it deserves it, a DAC with six inputs hey, who would have thought. And a usb makes 7, almost forgot. I'll try to dig in and get to the details over the coming weekend, stay tuned.
  2. Hello, Its been a while since I've posted on Stereonet having moved to France almost two years ago. Too be honest I still haven't found the French or European equivalent of this forum Another reason to be homesick!! Although the cheap wine does make up for a number of things!! I thought I'd start investigating some of the French Hi Fi stuff being sold and listened to locally - notably DEVIALET - both their amps and phantom speakers. There's a dealer here in town who's given me a brief listen to them both and I was considerably impressed...the prices are more reasonably here than back in Oz. Plus I also need to downsize now that I'm living in a smaller apartment. So I need to sell a few things and am curios if people have sold and bought Turntables, tube amplifiers and speakers from UK or Europe because I'm thinking of selling a few things on the Stereonet Classifieds here. Firstly because I can post the adds in English! Secondly because the French don't really understand me when I start talking about REGA upgrades like Groovetracer sub platters and platters, Graham Slee pre amps etc. Doesn't seem to be in their Audiophile orbit.... I'm looking at selling my Trafomatic Aries Amp and the matching Hoyt Bedford Speakers, along with a Luxman EL84 amp and a REGA RP3 TT w TTPSU (groovetracer upgrades), but given the weight and size am reluctant due to shipping costs? But if their are any members with family or contacts at FEDEX etc or advice for fragile overseas shipping I'd me more than appreciative for any feedback on cheap but secure delivery, as the buyer will incur costs.. Its times like these that make me homesick. Thanks for any help, M
  3. Hey SNAers, I have taken advantage of the Graham Slee loaner scheme run by @cheekyboy. I have had the wonderful experience of trailing first the Reflex M and now the Accession M. I am also trialling the GS speaker cables Both of these moderately priced units proved me with a much enhanced listening experience, notably better than the onboard NAD stage, which isn't terrible.... clearly not comparable. I am unable to discuss the two sale units in comparison, so I will focus on my current experiences with the Accession. So since getting the Accession and setting it all up, I have found the enjoyment factor to be much higher, the sound is full, or rich in comparison. By this I mean the tones are all more vibrant, but nuanced. When listening to Paul Simons Graceland album, the African singers are all wonderfully clear, but placed in space, width and depth... I never really got that feeling until now, there has even been a few times I though my kids were calling out from their rooms, only to notice it was a singer in the sound stage. I have also found that on Fleetwood Mac 'Rumours' the vocals on all the tracks a better defined and forward in the soundstage, surrounded by the other instruments. When I flicked back to the NAD stage, the life, the width and the fun were all less, a bit greyscale if you like. As for the settings available on the Accession, I gave each of them a whirl. The RIAA adjustments do what they say, I found them helpful in taming a couple of sides with tremble issues. I also gave the loading a bit of a change, only to determine the standard 100pf was the sweet-spot for my Dynavector 10x5. So I am really very impressed with the quality and value proposition the Accession M has shown me for improving my analogue sounds, and I can only suggest to all those newer converts, who are using on-boards, or more lowly spec'd phono stages; give the loaner program a go.... before you rush off and spend $$ on another option, because even if you don't buy one, you will have the chance to understand what differences a good stage can make. I am sure there are a few owners of GS products on the forum who can attest to the quality of the product and even the value of the loaner program. Thank you to the team at Wyndham Audio, particularly Keith, for the opportunity to trial such good quality gear! I have really enjoyed getting back into HiFi, there is soo much to learn and listen too. Life is much too short for low-res

  7. Item: VPI Aries II, 10.5 JMW Unipivot Arm, Lyra Dorian Cartridge Location: Seymour area 3660 Price: $3500 Item Condition: Excellent 9+/10 Reason for selling: Upgrading Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Bank Wire Extra Info: Selling my VPI Aries II turntable with JMW 10.5 Unipivot Arm and Lyra Dorian Cartridge. I'm the original owner of this brilliant system, the Lyra has only maybe 150 hrs on it. Everything is in fantastic condition!! I don't care who says what, you simply cant beat the sound of a well designed turntable when setup correctly. Hands down this system kicked butt against SACD in every department... most noticeably in soundstage, imaging, harmonics and yes even dynamics is a huge advantage, you also have presence like no digital system can ever offer, and I'm even talking about DCS digital gear too! . This combo is super quiet, even the oldest records come over with the least amount of clicks and pops. I used this combo with Graham Slee's MC Elevator EXP and Era Gold V phono stage.... WoW best describes this combo!! For an extra $1200 I'm happy to consider also selling the Graham Slee phono stage system to the buyer of the turntable, but I will not sell the Graham Slee hear as seperate items - sorry. Will ship Australia wide at buyers cost, estimated shipping 150 -> $250 + insurance (depends on local) or happy for buyer to collect Pictures: these pictures simply don't do this table justice, its immaculate, you will not find a better example, there is not a mark anywhere on it, pure beauty when sitting in with a system and better again when playing. The Aries II turntable is regarded as the next best thing to a VPI TNT!
  8. 9. Item: Graham Slee Gram Amp 2SE Location: Richmond 3121 Price: $300 - reasonable offers Item Condition: very good, single owner Reason for selling: upgrade Payment Method: Prefer pickup Cash, Extra Info: Preference given to a local so it can be auditioned before buying. But I do have original packaging so it can be posted at your risk/expense. Very well known and regarded phonostage. https://www.wyndhamaudio.com.au/products/gsp-audio-gram-amp-2-special-edition
  10. Item: Graham Slee Accession MC Location: Lane Cove, NSW Price: $1300 for pick up, $1350 for postage within Australia inc. insurance Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Upgraded Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: As you can see from the photos this unit is in immaculate condition and comes with all the original packaging. It was purchased brand new from Wyndham Audio in June 2018 and was in use for about 12 months. I am selling purely because I decided to upgrade a few months ago. The Accession MC provides four different input impedance settings (500, 300, 100 and 75 ohms). It also has several different EQ settings which are easily switchable from the front panel - RIAA which is the standard for most records, American & British which caters for the NAB & FFRR standards used in the 40s and 50s and also CA/Flat (which is what the record sounds like without any equalisation after the Accession has applied its cartridge equalisation). For further info on this I suggest going to the GS website https://www.hifisystemcomponents.com/phono-preamps/accession-mc-phono-preamp.html I have also included a screen shot of the specs with the photos below. I have owned a few different Graham Slee units over the years and they never fail to impress, to say they punch weigh above their weight is a massive understatement. I honestly have no idea how they manage to create such wonderfully detailed and authentic sound that is utterly transparent for such a reasonable price and in such a tiny package. If you would like to read a detailed review of this unit please go here: http://v2.stereotimes.com/post/graham-slee-accession-mc-moving-coil-phono-preamplifier/ If you have any questions please feel free to get in touch and I'll try to answer to the best of my ability. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  11. Item: Graham Slee Solo SRG II Location: Sydney Price: $315 $345 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Surplus Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: It's a really nice amp, sounds very musical. I've used it with HD650 and it worked really good with them. It comes with Green PSU. I am the first owner and still have the original packaging. Pictures:
  12. Item: Graham Slee SOLO headphone amplifier Location: Canberra ACT Price: *SOLD* Item Condition: 8/10 - one very slight mark on the face and one very slight mark on the body. Also the case doesn't sit completely flush against the back plane (this is pictured.) but doesn't affect the sound at all. Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup or post - Cash, Paypal (buyer pays fees or pays as friend and family) Extra Info: Plain looking but not plain sounding headphone amp that matches the impedance of any headphone it drives. A quote from the https://www.hifisystemcomponents.com/headphone-amplifiers/solo-srgii-headphone-amplifier.html: " Output impedance cannot therefore be a fixed value that suits all headphones. But, by sensing the headphone current, extra power can be delivered to the headphone to cover for impedance dips, and less power for impedance peaks - thus making for a smoother sound. " Drives my Hifiman HE-300, HE-4XX and BeyerdynamicT90 perfectly. No longer needed as I predominately listen to my 2 channel set up now and they are wasted on gaming. Looking to raise funds for two, 2 channel purchases I would like to make. Happy to have people bring headphones and audition in Canberra. Pictures:
  13. Item: MM Phono Stage. Graham Slee Reflex M (Silver). Comes with PSU1 Location: Sydney Price: $600 (inc post) Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Upgraded Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: Lots of high praise for this Phono Stage. I've had the unit for just on 2 years. Purchased from Wyndham Audio when I got my Soulines TT. It is excellent IMO. Has served me well - I had it matched to the Graham Slee Elevator (to play MC) I've upgraded to the Accession. Some minor difference, but bang for buck would sit with Reflex M. It's only just beaten by the Accession in my system. 17. Item: Fostex TH-X00 Mahogany headphones (serial#1999 of 2000) from the first Massdrop issue. I am also including a Grado 1/4 to 1/8 inch adapter for phones or DAPs Location: Canberra ACT Price: 500 posted and insured (450 with headphone amp), will deliver in the ACT Item Condition: 8/10 - small manufacturing blemish and slight cable kink past the y joint (visible in pictures) Reason for selling: Wasted on gaming and need to pay for a recent 2 channel amplifier purchase. Spending more time listening to 2 channel. Payment Method: Pickup or post - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: Really easy to drive at 32 Ohms and not demanding at all. Great sounding headphone out of phones or low powered DAPs, I was able to get brilliant audio out of this and a Shozy Alien. One of the best looking headphones available that funny enough, changes hue depending on the light. Beautifully finished and of high quality; equal to the TH-610 which retails for $999 (can be had for $700) but doesn't look as good as the Mahongany. Can be modded to make them sound even better and there is a mod to add a detachable cable. The cable on the TH-X00 is long and is of great quality so I haven't felt the need to. Good 'Bass Head' headphone but is also very detailed and has really nice highs. Very clean sound especially with the SOLO headphone amp. Happy to audition for anyone in Canberra. SALE PENDING ON PAYMENT FOR THE FOSTEX HEADPHONES Item: Graham Slee SOLO headphone amplifier Location: Canberra ACT Price: 250 posted and insured (save money by buying both the headphone and amplifier), will deliver in the ACT Item Condition: 8/10 - one very slight mark on the face and one very slight mark on the body. Also the case doesn't sit completely flush against the back plane (this is pictured.) Reason for selling: Wasted on gaming and need to pay for a recent 2 channel amplifier purchase. " Drove both my TH-X00 and my HE-350 easily and will drive power hungry headphones and make them sing. Fantastic match for the Fostex TH-X00, just add a dac for head-fi bliss. I'll probably regret selling these but the boss has spoken and told me to sell some stuff to pay for a amp I just bought. I am negotiable on price especially if you purchase both items and I am happy to audition the phones and amp if your in Canberra. Please inbox me if you have any questions. Pictures:
