I'm selling an item on ebay and would prefer to have it picked up due the weight and also the fragile nature of the item. It's a valve amp. I've had a lot of requests for postage costs and wondered where I stand if the buyer pays with paypal and the item arrives damaged in transit. Is it possible to have to refund the buyer according to paypals rules? I've told potential buyers that I take no responsibility once out of my hands and posting is at there risk but I suspect paypal might override this if the buyer had a change of heart or the item was damaged in transit. Any thoughts or experiences you can share on this topic? Thanks, Legs

Hi,as we all know shipping costs suck and sometimes it doesnt make sense for EG. I bought an LP from the uS last week.I paid US$17,and received it one week! I've paid twice that at times. I msg'd the seller and asked if he had a business account or something of the like and he said NO. This service was with USPS it had tracking and was called "USPS First-CLASS PKG INT with E-DELCON SERVICE".(It also has an small express post decal)That is exactely how it is written on the docket.(It may have been reg but,i know the posties well and they just shove it under my door,if i'm not home) This is the cheapest and fastest service i have ever had.I have paid US$44+ and it took the same time(with tracking) So from now on,i dont care what people have written for their shipping costs.,i will be asking for this service.(I have done this before and saved).I always tell the seller i dont want the GSP(global shopper programme) price(the ones where you see shipping for a cd costing US$35 or more!) I just wanted to let all you vinyl buyers know.Of course i always buy new vinyl in Australia(cost permitting)this was a used LP. I dont mind paying $3 for mailers/fuel etc but usually shipping is a rip off. all the best S

has any one any experience with the new Little Bear Preamp on EBay - the one that sells for about $85 not the $45 one? I have bought one and am still waiting for it. It will be going between my Cambridge Audio CD player and my Emotiva UPA 500 power amp. I want to listen to the power amp and thought this would be the fastest way. I recently sold an item on ebay and I mentioned in the description that I want the space so the item has to go asap. The winning bidder emailed to say he can't pick up until "probably" late January because he is overseas. Of course this doesn't work for me. A week to 10 days I can understand but a whole month is not on in this case. Also the next highest bidder has told me he will take it if offered second chance and can pick up in a few days. Ebay customer service have told me I need to request the buyer to agree to a cancellation but apart from the first email on sale day I've not heard back from him. I've sent the request but it's 4 days since the item sold and I haven't been paid and I still have space that could be better used. My next option is to open an unpaid item case where the buyer is requested to pay. Thing is I don't want his money and if he pays me I'm supposed to wait until freakin' end of next month. If I cancel the sale ebay will slug me with a final value fee and whisk it out of my account. At least I don't need the connected account so I could close that. My CC details have not been updated with paypal so not sure they could take money from that either. Anyway I'm getting very over the whole ebay and paypal thing these days and I'm thinking I should close one or both accounts. Has anybody done this? Any reason not to? Any good reason to do so?

I had not received any email about the delay. I checked the listing and it had been amended after my purchase but still stated the same thing about release date 08-09-17 and being shipped 5 days after that. So this guy is selling records that he does not have yet and knows delivery of stock is delayed and has no ETA on stock arrival. 2 purchases had been made before mine and another 2 have been made after mine. I wrote back to him and CONFIRMED I was aware of the pre-order statement on the listing and by the way it read it indicated that when I made the purchase he had stock in Australia. Anyway, why mark the item as SENT when he did not even have stock in the first place? Because he is a liar. I did an eBay Item Not received refund request and a day later he refunded my money. Because this ****** bag was still falsely advertising like he actually had stock in Australia I left negative feedback in the limited space eBay allow. He responded with more lies - see image below. Karma will get this guy. I would have normally ordered this from Amazon USA but they had sold out. But to my delight I discovered Amazon UK, which did have stock and got it cheaper too!

I recently purchased a turntable from Trevor Lee's ebay store. He promptly messaged me back saying that he had already sold the last one and he didn't know how this happened but he would try and sort one out for me from someone who owes him a favour. I then replied to his message via ebay saying that I didn't want him to go to too much trouble so just cancel the order please. I didn't hear back from him so I decided to go in a different direction and buy a turntable from an actual shop. He has just messaged me saying that it's all been sorted and I can expect delivery tomorrow! I'm not sure what to do. His store doesn't use Paypal and he hasn't contacted me for payment.I presume he's already sent it. I'm not sure where I stand legally.Am I within my rights to refuse delivery? Any advice appreciated.
