  1. Extra Info: Looking for long discontinued Focal Electra CC1008BE in Carrara White lacquer finish only. Not interested in Sopra version. Speaker must be like new or new in unopened box with zero flaws. Top dollar paid for brand new in box, new old stock.
  2. Hi all, My CC-690 recently started sounding awful (tinny/vibration), and with the current travel restrictions, I thought I'd open it up and have a look. I couldn't see anything obviously wrong, so I just re-seated the mechanical connections at the drivers and crossovers. In testing, I came across the following odd behaviour: - With only the upper range (top binding posts) connected, the tweeter/midrange assembly works as expected (woofers silent) - With only the lower range (bottom binding posts) connected, the 4 woofers work as expected (tweeter assembly silent) - When both sets of binding posts are connected (using either bi-wire cables or the supplied links), only the tweeter assembly works (woofers are silent) I can't understand how this is possible as the top binding posts appear to be wired directly to the tweeter assembly's crossover and the bottom posts to the main crossover (which directly drives the 4 woofers). In this photo, the purple/black pair of wires go directly to the tweeter's crossover: If anyone with more knowledge of speaker design could help me to understand what's going on (and ultimately, to fix the speaker!), that would be fantastic. This is doing my head in! Thanking you all in advance.
  3. Hi All, I have a Yamaha RX-V1065 receiver and I had 4 speakers (only) for about 7 years in my very small apartment. Obviously I endured a phantom centre in the system and honestly, I wasn't unhappy with it through the years. I got some speare speakers and so I put them side by side in my system and wired them I believe in series parallel The speakers are from TLS, the M4's http://www.theloudspeakerkit.com/lsk-m4-mini-monitor-kit-single/ http://www.dansdata.com/m4kit.htm I'm playing all my media from a HTPC, via HDMI through an nvidia card Windows is configured to output 5.1 channels. I literally sit 7.5' from the speakers, that's ear to speaker cone - pretty damn close. http://imgur.com/KhtAMPs So here's the thing, I'm not sharp with speakers, hifi, home audio. Am I doing something wrong? I'm finding that the voices are simply too quiet. I've used the YAPO thing to adjust the centre channel. Is my amp too weak to drive 2 speakers in series parallel? Can anyone give me some tips? My next step is to actually completely disable the centre channel on the amp, keep using the phantom for a few weeks just to be sure it's not my imagination? It's distinctively voices (centre) which seem to be insufficient. (I've tried setting them to small and large on the amp) Thanks for your time. EDIT: Just FWIW, I don't believe I drive my system excessively loud, quite modest infact. I don't think my hearing is damaged, I just want clear, distinct voices, I get the impression most movies unfortunately seem to send ALL the goddamn sound to the centre and even the fronts are only used sparingly.
  4. KLIPSCH RC 64ii Center Channel Speaker in Black Purchased brand new 3 years ago from KlappAV . RRP was $3K . It has been amazing enough to keep up with my Focal Scala V2 Utopia which are monsters . However , I’m upgrading to the matching center for timbre match . The slam and dynamics of the quad 6.5 woofers will be missed . Did in home comparison to a few contenders in the same price range from SVS , B&W and Focal . This was the clear winner with its sheer output , clarity of vocals and dynamics . There is no other speaker such as this, with the incredible compression horn tweeter providing life like immersive sound making movies seem as good as an IMAX theater and music as good as a live concert. You can hear all of the fine instruments in an orchestra clearly and perfectly as if you are hearing them play live in concert. The bass and dynamics is strong and powerful with the quad 6.5" woofers. Purchased brand new 3 years ago from KlappAV . Have all the original packaging for postage , if preferred . 7. Hi folks, I've been baby sitting my brother's surround sound system for a while and he's decided to stay in London on a semi-permanent basis... so I've got this awesome custom made centre channel for sale in IVANHOE, Melbourne, VIC. It was built to match a couple of Jamo 365D left and right speakers. It has the clarity you'd expect from a Trevor Lees and the type of output you'd expect from a speaker of its size. In the hands of someone who loves their sound system and can appropriately match the components, this is a phenomenally good speaker. I was going to sell it on e-bay but my brother scolded me and told me that it would be better appreciated by people on the DTV Forum. I know my brother would prefer to see it in the hands of a real audio enthusiast who can use it to compliment their set up. 700mm wide (exact measurements) 215mm high 515mm deep Originally used with Jamo 365D speakers, which are quite large and some small Polk Audio speakers as the rears. Dust cover in perfect order. Works as new. No damage whatsoever. $440 (originally over $800) I'm moving house, so this item must be sold and collected by Sat 31 March Pick up only from Ivanhoe, VIC.

  9. Item: Bowers & Wilkins HTM1D Centre Speaker Location: Perth Price: $5000 Item Condition: Used Reason for selling: No longer required Payment Method: Pickup - Cash Extra Info: Quite possibly one of the biggest and baddest Centre channels you’ll ever find. It’s quite rare to see these for sale, especially in Oz. The HTM1D is the largest of four centre speakers in the 800 Series. The full configuration of FSTTM midrange in a Marlan® sphere / tube ‘head’ with diamond dome tweeter on top is used, so that the system perfectly voice matches either the 800D, 801D or 802D in a substantial and powerful multi-channel installation. The HTM1D uses three 8” diameter Rohacell® cone drivers with twin rear-firing FlowportsTM. All drivers are, of course, magnetically shielded to avoid picture distortion with CRT-based screens. The HTM1D is specifically intended to be mounted on the floor, its low profile allowing a large projection screen to come within 2 ft. of the floor. Supplied with the system are four heavy-duty height-adjustable feet. This design allows up to 1.6” of vertical adjustment so that the speaker may be tilted back to face more towards the listeners. They have a case hardened spike at one end for carpeted floors, and a non-marking rubber pad on the other for more vulnerable surfaces. http://bwgroupsupport.com/downloads/specsheets/bw/HTM1D InfoSheet.pdf Pictures:

  13. Item: Sonus Faber SOLO centre channel Location: Box Hill South Price: $400 Item Condition: good condition Reason for selling: Selling for a friend who is downsizing Payment Method: Cash, DD, Paypal to friend Extra Info: One owner, purchased brand new for a perfect fit with his Electa Amators. Sonus Faber centre channels rarely come up for sale second-hand! There's a couple of simple reasons for that - they are not plastic and they are not half thought out cheaply designed or made. This unit weighs nearly 13kgs and is the real deal. Finished in a real black leather covering, even your other half will be hard pressed to not find it less than elegant. Yes, there are three blemishes in the leather, but they have not been tarted up here. With the use of a black texta I am sure they will almost disappear. Just wish to be upfront here. Yes, I have the original boxes (they are in excellent cond.) and am happy to ship at your cost. Of course, local pickup always preferred. Pictures:
  14. Item: Bowers and Wilkins HTM1D Centre Channel (rosenut) Location: Perth Price: $6000 Item Condition: Reason for selling: Downsizing. Sad to see it go but it just won't fit in the new room. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Unit is currently in storage but can be accessed for serious inquiries. 16. Further information: Some information can be found on the Adelaide Speakers Ascension website, but I think the centre was custom made to match the Summoners, so it can't be found there. Great speakers, but I'm downsizing my system and looking to try something new. Summoner 1293SQTL: 220 wrms / 6 ohm 122x40x32cm Frequency Response: 23 -- 30,000 Hertz +/-2dB Sensitivity: 92 dB 2.83V/1m Drivers: Ultra high end SB Acoustics 12 inch bass and 5 inch midrange drivers designed by ex-Scanspeak engineers; high efficiency wave guide tweeter for beautiful realism in the upper range above 2.5 kHz. Description: This is another refinement of the popular Summoner range using some of the best drivers and components available. This version is for people who like or require the characteristics of a large driver to push a lot of air. All our speakers are very highly regarded for their high resolution and natural clarity. This is definitely a large sounding speaker that draws you deeply in to the experience of the sound stage, but one that requires less space front to back. L283TQ Trio Centre: 240 wrms / 8 ohm 24x121x30cm The following is from the similar but not identical 283SQ, so would differ in some way from what I have. Frequency Response: 40 -- 30,000 Hertz +/-2dB Sensitivity: 92dB 1w/1m Drivers: 2 x 205mm long throw, high power wood and fibre cone bass drivers; 2 x 5 inch SB Acoustics midrange; wave guide tweeter Description: Large, powerful and efficient high end 3-way centre; good low end bass, voice projection and dynamic sound stage ; similar driver set-up and crossover as some Timberwolf series floorstanding speakers such as the 8883.

  18. Further Information: Available is a set of surround speakers from Definitive Technology -- Floor Standing speakers BP9060 (2 nos) and BP9040 (2 nos), Centre speaker CS9080 (1 no) and Dolby Atmos speakers A90 (2 nos). The floor standing speakers and centre speaker can be powered to use in-built subwoofer. With all speakers powered up, you can get Dolby Atmos 5.5.2 set up. A90 are modular atmos speakers that can be added on top of BP9060 and BP9040. With addition of extra A90 speakers, one can get 5.5.4 setup. My home theatre receiver (Arcam AVR390) only had 7 channels of amplification, so could not add additional A90 speakers without requiring additional amplifier. I do have the original boxes for all the speakers, so can ship if required, but it's going to be quite bulky. Prefer a local pickup. I can supply a full set of Wireworld Stream 8 speaker cables (1.5m for front/centre/atmos and 5m for surround) with banana connectors (if required). For those who need a full HT set up, I can throw in Arcam AVR390 receiver for reasonable price. Please message me if you need any other details.
  19. Klipsch Reference Premiere Floorstanders RP-8000F and Centre Channel RP-404C Here's the front end to your new surround sound set-up, wonderfully powerful speakers that are only 18 months old, but due to downsizing my home I no longer have room for them. The speakers are all in excellent condition, the centre channel has been boxed and unused for the last six months, so you'll be adding a practically brand new set of speakers to your home. Speakers can be packaged in the original boxes, so they can be shipped, however, they must be picked-up by courier from Reservoir as I don't have a car big enough to fit the boxes to take them to a shipping agency.. Here's some details on each of them: Klipsch RP-8000F Floorstanding Speaker in Walnut = RRP $2,798 The Klipsch RP-8000F floorstanding speaker delivers incredible cinematic sound by leveraging our proprietary Tractrix® horn-loaded technology and dual 8" copper-spun Cerametallic™ woofers. 21. Item: Centre channel speaker Price Range: $300-$400 Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: My current fronts lean to the 'forward' side of neutral and I enjoy it's sound signature. I'm hoping someone has a good centre channel speaker they would be willing to sell that might suit. Currently thinking a Monitor Audio Silver C150/C350 or one of the current Klipsch RP series. I like listening to movies at a decent volume (something my fronts handle comfortably) if that makes a difference. Edit: Ideally in Melbourne for pickup Please don't forget to report your post as FOUND when possible. (You can now delete this text).
