Years ago I installed Foobar, ASIO, Monkeymote + Bonjour on WIn7 laptop, along the way my DAC no longer controls FB playback. Audiolab 8200CDQ is a CD/DAC/Pre-amp that has ability to control PC media device over USB, identifying itself as HID (Human Interface Device). Audiolab's remote used to controlled Foobar playback (pause/play, fwd, back) as well as volume of pre-amp into power amps, but no longer does the former. Monkeymote advises;

Further information: These are beautiful amplifiers made by Audiolab in UK. They are offered for sale as a combination. They might seem dated but they still work beautifully. The 8000C preamp is specially suited for people with turntables as it offers both MM and MC inputs. The 8000P power amp is not huge by today standard but it produces enough powers for most speakers. It provides minimum 100W per channel. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

I've just acquired a JH turntable for free and could use a steer on getting it sorted and running. The owner bought it new in 1974. Does anyone have any idea what model this is? (obviously google hasn't helped with finding manual). Keen on getting it going. The owner (my neighbour) is non-techie but he said they'd taken it to Carlton AV here in Melbourne, and they said there was an issue with the wiring in the tonearm. Advice was the cost to fix was too high for the unit. I've plugged it in and run it through my amp; sounds fine although I had to manually rotate the disc. I'd like to get a manual or something with detail on the internals to see if I can get it living again. Some questions for the forum (obviously I've googled first with not a great deal of luck on this specific machine): I need to replace the belt but not sure what the correct size is - any suggestions? The existing belt is really overstretched so I can't use that as a gauge. I don't get how the 33/45 speed change works. Looks like you pull the spindle up to change speeds, I'm assuming it's moving the belt on to a smaller pulley. Would be great to see an image of how it's meant to look set up correctly so I can sort it once I replace the belt. Here's a vid: https://imgur.com/ivZxmGI The tone arm lever appears to be out of whack, again any suggestions on how it should sit? At the moment the arm seems to be coming up under the left side and I can't rotate it around without breaking it. I'm assuming a new cartridge is in order, but can't find a source for info on what is compatible with that tone arm. Would appreciate any steers to online info (not expecting the forum to do everything for me, but I'm a turntable newbie with 'beginners' electronics skills). cheers, pics below.

See Pictures Reason for selling: Trying out the Primare DAC 30 Payment Method: Cash, Paypal as a friend (or +3% fees), Bank Transfer Extra Info: Purchased from a fellow SNA member late 2017. This was the first DAC I introduced in my system and absolutely loved it! Only selling as I am now experimenting with a Primare DAC 30 also purchased via SNA. So, the short story is that nearly a decade ago, I purchased an Audiolab 8000 CDE CD player and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, at the time, Audiolab were sourcing their power trannies from somewhere with quality control issues. Seems that they tend to go faulty and trip their internal thermal fuse. Death of CD player coincided with implosion of marriage, so what was a very nice player has sat in its box for about 8 years while CD duties went to a budget pioneer DVD player. This last week I finally dived in to Jaycar and purchased some transformers to fit into an outboard case. Yesterday was the moment of truth when after years, it finally sprang back to life, arguably sounding better than before. Case needs completion and a 5 pin plug and socket, but this evening I'm a happy listener again.

I was just shown this at a garage sale (it wasn't in the sale, the guy brought it out after we had been chatting). It is boxed (box has Audiolab, Melbourne, JH printed on it), has never been used- apparently his Dad was into audio gear and found this during a clean up. Just wondering what this would be worth and what kinds of turntables it is suited for? Sorry about the photo- I had taken others but accidentally deleted them because I ran out of storage on my phone- d'oh! Thanks in advance ericd

Item: Audiolab 8200CDQ + 8200P Like New Location: Sydney Price: RELISTED 8200P SOLD Item Condition: 9. The indicator light on 8200P does not come on when it's ON, otherwise in perfect working condition. No marks (might have tiny marks if you look very closely) Reason for selling: Not used as often as I like to. I prefer playing vinyl records and I prefer my valve amp. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I bought the 8200CDQ+P when they were first available in Australia in February 2011 from Apollo Hi Fi, and I paid $1999 for the 8200CDQ and $1349 for the 8200P, total $3348. I wanted to return the 8200P when I received it and the indicator light was not working, but I was told there were limited stocks issued for Australia and I would have to wait for many more weeks. The amp and the CDQ have been working perfectly that's why I never get around to get the indicator light fixed. The 8200CDQ is a CD Player, DAC, and have an onboard digital/analogue preamp, also a pair of balanced outputs and a USB port (among many others) to connect directly to you computer, I have it connected to my iMac and it works perfectly. The 8200CDQ has gathered a huge amount of 5 starred reviews and praises. More info: 6 moons Hi Fi Choice What Hi Fi Hi Fi World + plenty more you can find online... The CDQ's version is 1.3 and not the latest OLED version. I have the original boxes for both the 8200CDQ and the 8200P. I am sorry I no longer have the receipts, they were destroyed when my basement were flooded early this year. Will ship at buyer's cost and risk. Pictures: -

EXPIRED: Audiolab 8000S Amplifier
rockeater posted a topic in Stereo, Home Cinema, Headphones Components
Item: Audiolab 8000S Amplifier Location: Perth North Price: $499 (I sold one for just over that amount in August, but open to offers) Item Condition: Very Good Reason for selling: I recondition hifi and this is how I make my living (in semi-retirement). Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Direct transfer, COD Only Extra Info: Full 1 year warranty for local buyers on everything I sell. Bought from local SNA member with a minor fault of intermittent left channel. Fault easily traced to crumbled RCA connectors which now have all been replaced. This amp is very configurable and can be split into Preamp and Power amp even using remote control.. It comes with remote controller which not only works on motorised (ALPS) volume pot and can change inputs but also will control other Philips chipset based sources (i.e. Marantz or Naim). Very much in original condition with no evidence of any work being done previously. The only work done by me is to replace all of the input/output RCA connectors as stated above. If you are interested, you could have a look at the video of this system before the repair on my uTube Solaris Technical channel: Audiolab 8000S before the RCA socket replacement Shipping over East around $30 fully insured. Item: Audiolab M-DAC (black) Location: Melbourne (pickup in Seddon or shipping at buyer's cost) Price: $650 Item Condition: Very good, even the original screen protector is still there. Reason for selling: Bought it on a whim and don't really use it. Payment Method: Cash on pickup Extra Info: I purchased it a couple of months ago from from the original owner on here, who purchased a few years ago from Caxton Audio in Melbourne. Includes all original power supply, remote, packaging etc. Fantastic DAC/headamp - really sounds incredible..... Note, this DAC is with the latest firmware A.10 installed, which was unofficially provided by the designer of this DAC - John West. This firmware is much better than the original shipping version since it has more functions and even better sound quality. Please refer to the MDAC wiki (http://mdac.referata.com/wiki/Main_Page)for details of all the different firmwares. And if really required, I can update the firmware to whatever version you like although I can't think about any reason doing that . Detail product info: http://www.audiolab.co.uk/product-detail.php?pid=13 Review in whathifi: http://www.whathifi....ab/m-dac/review And tons of good reviews in all audio forums, such as this (unbelievable, part 110000 for a thread!) : MDAC First Listen (part 00110000)
