Comprising seven VAF Signature Series loudspeakers, and along with his existing furniture they didn’t fit in his room. The Gravitas Project was born as a custom build for this system. Further information: Great opportunity for some enthusiast who wants to drive a 2 way speaker with different amps. The unit is single ended as I have a single ended system. The unit is in great condition and there are no visible scratches. Makes a humongous SQ difference over a digital crossover like the Behringer DCX2496. The unit is ultra silent and comes with a normal power chord too. Comes in the original carton and is well packed to travel interstate if needed. Additional crossover boards can be ordered direct from Marchand for different crossover points as these are fixed on cards (as suggested to an enquiry that came through). Item: Audio Research EC-4 three way active tube crossover Location: Adelaide (will post interstate) Price: $450 Item Condition: Good used condition Reason for selling: Using digital DSP (shock, horror) Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This is a classic and rarely seen three way active crossover by Audio Research. It dates from the mid to late seventies. Frequencies are adjusted by changing capacitors on the circuit board. Crossover points are selectable at 50/100/400/500/800/1k/1.5k/2k/3.5k/5kHz. Uses 6 x 12AX7 tubes. This particuar example has been modified both for practical reasons (to operate at 240v) and for sonic improvements. A new 240v transformer has been added, along with an assortment of upgraded capacitors and resistors. In the process, RCA connectors have been moved to the front of the chassis. Unfortunately these modifications have not been carried out with aesthetics in mind. Nevertheless, if you can get past the less than immaculate appearance, this crossover will not disappoint. This is a rare, collectible – and for someone with an active three way system, a serious consideration. Item: JAMO PA-6000 dual 15" subwoofer and Reckhorn S-1 electronic subwoofer crossover. Location: Adelaide (can courier at your expense) Price: $675 or best offer Item Condition: Used but in good condition aesthetically and functionally (see pictures) Reason for selling: I've gone bigger. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Extra Info: This subwoofer cabinet contains 2 x 15" Jamo sub bass drivers in a ported bass reflex enclosure. Originally these were wired in series to create a 4 ohm load. I rewired the cabinet so each 8 ohm driver has it's own separate heavy duty speaker terminals. This way it can be driven by a regular home audio amplifier using the included Reckhorn active crossover. All you need is an auxilliary output from your preamp, and a stereo power amp to connect to the Rekhorn. This sums the signal into mono and creates two separate mono channels. This sub worked beautifully in my home setup, easily generating an in-room response down into the 20s (Hz). You have a lot of control over the signal (phase control from 0-270 degrees, variable high and low pass crossover frequency – and the ability to boost and cut gain at certain frequencies to counteract room nodes) which makes it easy to integrate into an existing system. I'm sad to see it go though, as it was a very good combination. Functionally both the sub and crossover operate perfectly. The Reckhorn crossover is in immaculate physical condition, and I'd say the sub cabinet is in 7.5 or 8 out of 10 condition aesthetically. I've tried to portray it accurately in the photographs. There are a few scrapes and marks here and there, but I found once it was inside it looked perfectly respectable. The sub cabinet is 1040mm high x 500mm deep x 500 mm wide. It is heavy, (I'd guess 60kg?) but has two wheels on the back edge and handles on both sides and top rear. It also comes with a heavy canvas cover for transportation. I'm happy for somebody to organise a courier to collect from the south coast of Adelaide (postcode 5173) or collect in person. Pictures:

Further information: I bought this MiniDSP 2x4 while setting up my bi-amped setup. Now that it's locked it, I no longer require it, so moving it along. I was looking for a DAC preamp and came across the NuForce. What I liked about it was its simplicity - 4 HDMI in along with Toslink and SPDIF inputs. I play stereo music 95% of the time and use it as an AV Processor about 5% of the time. I am currently set up as a 2.1 system, not surround but will be adding an additional amplifier for a 4.1 system (without center channel) soon. The music quality of this AV preamp is why I gave it 5 stars. I recently sold the very highly rated Wyred 4 Sound DAC2 which sells for $1,500 and replaced it with the NuForce. The DAC2 is a highly rated stereo only DAC that excels in its price range. The amazing thing is that I enjoy the much richer sound of the NuForce over the Wyred 4 Sound unit which sounds a little lean to me. My speakers are Magnepan 1.7s, amplifiers are the amazing Odyssey Khartago/Kismet mono blocks, subwoofer is a Rythmik F12 and all wiring is by Wireworld. The sound that I am getting is nothing short of spectacular. The clarity is amazing, voices are startlingly real and the naturalness and tonal colors are fantastic.
