Item: Gryphon Mojo Standmount Speakers w/stands Location:Sydney Price: $14,500 ONO Less than 1 year and a half old Item Condition:Mint Reason for selling:$ Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info:These were bought new, still have original boxes and manuals-priced with matching stands Overview:- "Known as the ‘Mojo' the innovative new speaker is finished with the same ‘soft-feel' urethane paint finish used by Mercedes Benz for its dashboards. According to Gryphon's founder and CEO, Flemming E. Rasmussen, not only does this surface have an ‘inviting tactile sensation' but it also means he can provide the speakers in a wide range of custom colours. However, for those who prefer a harder surface, other custom finishes are available in semi-gloss two-pack automotive paint. Gryphon claims that when the Mojo is installed on its dedicated stand, it is one of the only loudspeakers in the world that is able to deliver perfect phase at all frequencies at all times, thanks to its time-aligned, concave front baffle curvature. ‘Typically, speakers claiming time alignment employ a simple sloped front that is far less complicated and costly to build and assemble than the Mojo's concave baffle,' said Rasmussen. ‘But a concave baffle is the only way to achieve true time alignment for exceptional levels of transparency and musical realism. The curved baffle also reduces reflections from the floor and ceiling for enhanced clarity.' The new Mojo is 200×420×520mm (WDH) and uses components rarely found in loudspeakers, such as Duelund Coherent Audio graphite resistors, Jensen capacitors, Jensen air-core paper/oil inductors and low-memory, precision capacitors from Germany. Says Rasmussen: ‘Unlike most loudspeakers, Mojo is not built to a pre-determined price point. This allows us to employ fine hand-made components rarely seen in speakers of this sizeor any size, for that matterbecause of their prohibitive cost.' Despite its exotic internal components, the most unusual feature of the Mojo is its ultra-wideband Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter, which is fitted with interchangeable rear-mounted resistors that allow the user to choose a mild high-frequency roll-off (–0.5dB), neutral response (0dB) or mild boost (+0.5 dB). ‘This gives the Gryphon Mojo the ideal high frequency response in virtually any room and the ability to integrate perfectly with the acoustics of the listening space,' says Rasmussen. ‘Because of its large surface area and pleated diaphragm, the AMT driver moves a large air volume with minimal motion for lightning-fast transients with a frequency response that's flat to well beyond 38kHz, negligible distortion and a total absence of compression.' The speakers will retail in Australia for $27,000 per pair." Pictures: These are amaziing speakers that I will hate to see go but hopefully will find a good home. Bought less than 1 year and a half. Pictures will follow shortly!

Item: PMC TB2S+ Standmount Speakers - Studio version matte black Location: Horsham, Victoria (will courier at buyers expense). Price: $1500 ONO $1350 $1050 firm. Item Condition: Near New - 6 months old Reason for selling: Medical costs/Upgrading Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: These are the best speakers I have ever owned. I bought them from Stereophonic in Melbourne 6 months ago. They are extremely accurate, have great soundstage and go deeper than any speaker it's size has a right to. This is probably due to the transmission line design incorporated into the enclosures. The enclosures have 'PMC' etched into the sides of each speaker (photo 1) and are very durable. They come with original manuals box etc. I will be very sorry to see these go however my wife urgently needs surgery and that comes first. Pictures:

Item: Usher 718DMD (Tiny Dancer) Standmount Speakers Location: Canberra Price: SOLD Item Condition: Physically 8/10 but see description below Reason for selling: Moving overseas Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Direct Transfer Extra Info: At the time of purchase these were Usher's top standmount speakers. They retailed for $3K. Recently they have been replaced by the Usher Dancer Mini-X speakers, which retail for $3500. These are by far the best standmount speakers I have owned, and are, IMO, significantly ahead of ProAc, Paradigm, PSB, B&W etc for the same kind of money. They are also beautiful looking; the finish is outstanding. This pair were purchased new by me as the BE version. They have been upgraded to the DMD version, which is a $700 upgrade (I didn't pay this, I swapped tweeters with an owner of the DMD version (here on SN) who preferred the more forgiving BE tweeters). Physically, they are in great condition, bar a chip in the paint at the back bottom corner (you'd never see this from the front). I've included an image of the chip in the photos. Why am I selling them so cheap? Well, several reasons. Firstly, I stupidly disposed of the boxes so they are pick up only. They are seriously heavy speakers (for the size) and have a fantastic finish. I don't want to risk shipping them in a wrong boxes. Secondly, I'm moving overseas in three weeks, so I need to sell them before then. And thirdly (and perhaps most importantly), I possibly damaged the left tweeter yesterday when, after listening to a very quietly recorded classical track, I booted into a new installation of Linux without remembering to turn the volume down. This resulted in the stupid default start-up sounds playing at close to full volume. I've been giving them a good listen since then, and think that there might be slight damage to the left tweeter. I thought it was sounding slightly distorted, but now I'm not sure. I can't seem to get the it to distort in any reliable way, so perhaps it was just the track I was listening to. In any case I don't want to sell them under false pretences, so I've priced them so that if there is any issue, the tweeter can be replaced and the total price will still be exceptionally good. (I contacted an Usher dealer last night and he said he had a replacement tweeter he could sell for $250 -- I'll pass the details on to whoever purchases the speakers and they can decide whether they think the tweeter needs replacing or not). Apart from the stupid mistake last night, the speakers have always been well looked after, and have been driven with quality amplification. Here are a few reviews: http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/usher2/tinydancer.html http://www.stereophile.com/standloudspeakers/508ush/ http://www.soundandvision.com/content/usher-be-718-speaker-system Pictures: I took one of these photos before I upgraded the tweeter, so in one image the BE tweeter is shown. Please ignore this, the tweeters are the DMD tweeters as shown in the other front-side image.
