  2. Hi all, I have recently acquired a set of Sennheiser HD650's and have been driving them directly from my computer and Pioneer SA-708. To me the pioneer sounds better but I can't be bothered to move it to my computer room yet so I have just being using my iPhone as a source for the Pioneer. (My mother board is a Gigabyte G1 Sniper M3 incase you need to know). I was wondering if I should buy a headphone amp first and use that off my computer or buy a dac first and use the Pioneer for a head amp. I am also wondering what you would suggest for a headphone amp and dac for roughly $1000 for both or $500 each and I am certainly happy to buy used if something is of that value used. I have been thinking of getting the following components: Headphone amp: Bottlehead Crack possibly with speedball upgrade, if I don't order the upgrade I will probably add it later. Schiit Valhalla 2. Dac: Schiit Bitfrost 4490. Musical Fidelity V90 Dac. Used Musical Fidelity M1 DAC. Also does anyone know of a good dac capable of DSD playback under about $800 which has a noticeable difference between PCM and DSD but also plays pcm well? Here is some of the music I enjoy listening to: http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php/topic/49243-need-suggestions-on-tracks-for-home-stereo-demo-testing/?p=1508624 Thanks, Ted.
  3. I couldn't help but chuckle a little bit at this.. The new Sennheiser HD630VB! http://www.delamar.de/musik-equipment/sennheiser-hd-630vb-28365/ Why? They've got the Momentum 2.0!!!! The HeadFi hypetrain is already five pages long, and was started 12 hours ago....
  4. Hi All. After a couple of hours of reading through the Head-Fi section here on SNA, I may have narrowed down to what I could be after. My preferred budget is $300 - $500 Max. These are the candidates: - B&W's P7 - AKG Q701 / K702 - HiFiMan HE500 - Sennheiser Momentum Over-Ear - NAD Viso + Up to any suggestions. In most cases I am unable to test before purchase. Happy to purchase Second Hand or New. No Particular Genre' of music listening. Will be using an iPhone 4 for most of the listening. Possibly also Marantz 1060 Console Amp Headphone section - Advisable ? (Only until I can get together a budget for a Headphone Amp). Currently listening to B&W's P3 Headphones. I am enjoying them too, but after reading all the Praises for B&W's P5 + P7, I am clearly missing out on lots. All thoughts are greatly appreciated. Dek,

  6. Item: Sennheiser HD600 with HD650 cable Location: Sydney Price: $200 Delivered (Aus) Item Condition: Good Reason for selling: Not used anymore. Payment Method: Bank Transfer, Paypal (add 3% for normal transaction unless sent as a GIFT from paypal balance or bank account) Extra Info: Pictures: attached For sale is a HD600 that i cant quite remember how old it is but still in good condition since its only used for a few months and its just sitting in storage for ages since i find the sennheiser clamp force uncomfortable for my head. The HD600 txt/marking on the side has faded. Used in a smoke free and pet free environment. The pads are still clean and while they are not as full as brand new they are not entirely flat either. The HD6xx model of the Sennheiser is recommended to be used with a powerful amp. I believe they sound better again once you go balanced but it will cost you since you need to invest in a balanced equipment+cables. Plenty of reviews online if you google for it. No Original Box(but i'll bubble wrap these in a box for shipping). Cable is HD650 cable ONLY, i dont have the original hd600 cable. The HD650 cable should be a better cable for it since its terminated in the 1/4 jack that is common with desktop amplifiers.

They're perfect if you want to watch movies at night and not disturb anyone they don't leak sound and no cords if you have a big lounge perfect. I've still got the packaging all cords included, oops ignore the dust please. Pictures:

  18. Further information: I receieved these Sennheiser Momentum 3 wireless headphones as a gift shortly after I had already acquired a separate pair. Consequently I am offering them for sale new and with factory seals intact as shown in the photos below. The Momentum 3 have a clean and clear voice with a neutral musical sound signature, and even though they are not bassy they are capable of a tight bass. I found the active noise cancelling effective and close to my Sony WH-1000XMs performancewise however they more they pip the Sony in sound reproduction. They were easy to pair with my bluetooth devices with no signal issues. There are many reviews out there of these headphones fwiw https://www.whathifi.com/au/reviews/sennheiser-momentum-wireless. Happy to post these headphones at buyer's expense and will be packed in a outer box for shipping. Many thanks for looking. 20. Hi all, I have been considering getting a Schiit Bitfrost or another similarly priced dac and a pair of HD650's or HD600's. It would great if someone was willing to let me borrow some for about a week although that can be discussed. I plan to power them through a Pioneer SA-708 (my profile picture) with the source being either a dac if one is available for testing or if I have purchased one in the future or strait from my computer or CD player. I do live in a house with pets and older children (9 year old and 11 year old) but they would be well out of reach for either and properly stored when not in use. If any damages were to somehow occur that were directly my fault I would be happy to pay for them or to get them fixed. I have a pair of Bose QC25's and would be willing to let someone borrow them if they wanted to test them out in exchange for letting me borrow a pair of Sennheiser HD600, 650 or 700's. Thanks, Ted.
