  1. Purchased from a Melbourne dealer in December 2023. These cables will certainly allow you to hear what your equipment is capable of. Approx 50 hours use and look brand new. Complete set with box and papers. RRP $4000. https://chord.co.uk/product/sarum-super-aray-analogue-rca/
  2. Further Information: Rrp $799 Another "clean-out day" find! Still fully dressed in its box like the day I got it. Exceptional option where a single lead is preferred (as opposed to each side being given separate cable), and offering AudioQuest's active DBS shielding system, this is a neat-freaks dream, and as clean as you could want anywhere near its price. Happy to ship Australia wide.
  3. Further Information: RRP $775 Simple, elegant, clean, the perfect option for components such as cd players, phono stages, or streamers, where a set of RCA cables is needed but without requiring separate leads through preference or simple aesthetic purposes. Offering AudioQuest's powerful DBS system allows this set to convey exceptional detail and dynamics beyond the lower ranges of AQ's stable, while maintaining the immediacy and punch the brand is so known for. Happy to ship Australia-wide, and typically happy to include shipping unless it makes the sale redundant.
  4. Oh harro there! I've been itching to fiddle around with DIY interconnect cables for some time now, having heard how good the Aurealis cables sound when assembled using quality components and some experimentation with geometry. @@gmdb (Geoff @ Aurealis) was very kind in providing loads of advice, suggestions and encouragement and I subsequently purchased four pairs of Aurealis star RCAs featuring gold plated tellurium copper conductors, and two pairs of KLE Copper Harmony RCAs featuring silver plated copper conductors. No brass here baby! I think the Aurealis RCAs are fantastic for $30 per set of four for a well engineered RCA connector. I've heard these up against the ETI copper bullets and couldn't tell the difference, so I was happy to buy some of them for my DIY cables. For the sake of consistency and to simplify the construction process, I sourced some Milspec silver plated solid core copper from Aurealis, and some pure silver and pure copper from A&E Metals in Sydney. No, it's not Neotech UPOCC wire, but it will suffice. All of the wire is 24AWG. The Milspec copper is teflon coated already, but the copper and silver are bare. Accordingly, I purchased some teflon tubing from Element14 to suit. This means that teflon is the only dielectric used on all of these cables. I also had some silver solder from a previous Aurealis order, and a bunch of Techflex and generic expanding sheathing from Element14 to dress things up a bit. Construction-wise, I went very simple - only two conductors with a light twist, and no shielding. The teflon tubing provides a nice consistent spacing between the wires when you lightly twist it. Due to the thin diameter of the completed cable, I used some surplus black silicon tubing to fabricate some 'bungs' to keep the wire nice and snug in the exit of the RCAs, and to provide some meat for the grub screws to compress into. This worked out neatly enough for DIY cables. The KLE Copper Harmony RCAs were used with solid silver wire, whilst the Aurealis copper RCAs were used with the pure copper and silver plated copper. This resulted in three different types of RCA cable which have the exact same construction method, but different materials and different different RCA connectors. Importantly, I haven't used any heatshrink on the interconnects, so they can easily be disassembled if I wish to experiment with different geometries (three wire braid with drain wire, 4 wire braid etc). The KLE/silver interconnects sound lovely so far - I've been using them for about two weeks now. Very clean, detailed and plenty of body. I don't perceive any nasty 'silver' harshness to the sound. I'm looking forward to trying the others soon! I also made up a basic USB A to USB B cable with no +5V line (only data + and - and the ground wire). This sits between the SB Touch and audio-gd DI V3 which is acting as an asynchronous USB converter. The data and earth wires are separated (although it probably doesn't make any difference as there is no +5V line to isolate the data wires from). The data wires are silver and the earth wire is copper, and the USB connectors are gold plated items which were scavenged from a poor innocent USB cable of decent quality. I'm not expecting to hear any difference compared to a basic USB cable, but you never know, especially after I've heard the differences between AudioQuest Cat7 ethernet cables (I kid you NOT!!!) At least they now look 'audiophile spec'. Heck... what can I say, I was bored! All in all, they look clean and tidy, and I'm certainly a fan of simple solid core interconnects with copper conductor RCAs, so I can't wait to compare them all and to tinker with different geometries in future.
  5. I have bought a used Cary multichannel (Class D) amp and it can be connected via RCA and XLR. I know it is normally connected to a Cary multichannel processor, but I am testing it at the moment straight from my Audio Aero cd player/preamp. Interconnects are Straightwire Rhapsody XLR and Neotech Silver RCA. Power cable on the Audio Aero is Nordost Vishnu and on the Cary it is a JPS Labs.I have not tried different power cords or different XLR cables yet. The Audio Aero simultaneously provide output via RCA and XLR and I know both works well as I have tested it via a Luxman Headphone amp with Sennheiser headphones. My problem is that with the Cary the XLR interconnects has a hissing noise which it does not have with the RCA intercnnects. The noise is consistently there, it does not come and go. I will appreciate help please.
  6. Hi all, this might be a silly question however after a bit of internet searching I have come to no real avail... My current set up is a Yamaha RX-A2020 Receiver with a Yamaha BD1020 Player connected via HDMI (Kordz EVO). Now I mostly watch Blu-Ray's but have been listening to a few CD's lately. What I would like to know is there much of an advantage playing CD's through RCA's as opposed to through HDMI? Is it worth spending the extra $$$ to get a decent pair of RCA's for 2 channel CD listening? Thanks, Laurence

  10. Further Information: Selling a mint condition set of Wireworld Eclipse 7 RCA's 1m length. I do not have the original packaging but will pack safely. Shipping is included in the price. I have found these to be a great cable for the price and better (to my ears) than RCA's significantly more expensive. These however are no longer required as I have upgraded to a set of Audience au24se RCA's.
  11. Further Information: Well known Lenehan FoilFlex Cable, barely used due to the length.
  12. Further information: Van Del Hul D102 MK III Hybrid Interconnects A great set of interconnects, selling as they were no longer being used in my system, I don't have the original box thus the lower price, I will ensure they are packed correctly for shipment. About Van den Hul The D-102 III Hybrid RCA Cable With ever continuing technical improvements, it was logical to upgrade the original D-102 - which has been on the market since 1982 - with an actual Hybrid version naturally called D-102 III Hybrid. The same Linear Structured Carbon technology as used in 'THE SECOND is applied to the D-102 III Hybrid. The van den Hul The D-102 III Hybrid is a very flexible balanced analogue interconnect with a triple layer shield delivered in a warm yellow-orange coloured outer casing. The sound is best described as pure, clean and very three dimensional with an extremely high resolution. This is a clear over-all winner and also an excellent solution for multi channel audio applications. Conductors: The two centre conductors are made of 40 dense, and very pure silver coated strands made of a very high grade Matched Crystal (MC) Oxygen Free Copper. Over each centre conductor an extra Linear Structured Carbon (LSC) saturated layer is applied. This extra layer of LSC highly improves the quality of the signal transmission by performing electrical bridging on micro-scale and by converting the external magnetic field close to the conductors into an electrical signal again. The capacitance between the two internal conductors is a very low 37 pF/meter; so in balanced operation, even in rather high impedance circuitry, the overall losses and/or phase-shift remain very low. What Is Linear Structured Carbon? Linear Structured Carbon (L.S.C.) is an uninterrupted chain of carbon atoms, perfectly aligned in multiple individually insulated fibres. It makes a thermally, chemically and mechanically extremely stable conductor, superior to any metal. It’s sonic properties remain, unlike any metal conductor, the same over time. With the application of L.S.C. in van den Hul products they avoid harsh sound and in doing so, support the spatial information. Very smooth mid-band articulation and extremely high resolution are the result. The people at van den Hul apply L.S.C. both in combination with metal conductors (Hybrid) as well as a “solo” conductor. Insulation: The insulation of the two centre conductors is made of polyethylene foam; one in white, the other in brown. Surrounding the centre conductors, special treated artificial filler fibres provide a perfect protection against losses caused by increased humidity over a longer period. The triple shielding consists of 2 helical layers with a total of 180 dense and very pure silver coated strands made of a very high grade of Matched Crystal (MC) Oxygen Free Copper with an extra layer of LSC saturated tape in between. The warm yellow-orange coloured jacket is made of HULLIFLEX. Length of cables is 1 mtr A donation to SNA will be made upon sale.

Bel Canto makes it happen with three new Asynchronous USB Link Converters; the entry-level mLink, moving-on-up uLink, and top-of-the-line REFLink. These new USB Link Converters isolate the music signal – and clocks – from the harsh, noisy electrical environments of computers and music servers. The new Bel Canto Link Converters take the USB output of your computer and deliver ultra-low jitter S/PDIF for your favorite DAC… most likely a Bel Canto 3.5VB Mk II, 2.5 or 1.5! All three USB Link Converters feature native MAC USB 2.0 compatibility, a custom Windows USB 2.0 driver, and operate at 16- or 24-bits at 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4 and 192kHz on a proprietary 500MHz DSP Core. It’s the Clocks Asynchronous USB does one thing really, really well; decoupling the critical audio clock from the music data just as you find in the pro audio world. As a result the new USB Link Converters’ output noise and jitter is now entirely dependent on the quality of the clocks. Since the oscillators are now free-running and isolated from the incoming data stream the Ultra-Low Phase-Noise Clocks now available make an astounding difference, turning the REFLink into essentially noise-free sources taking the digital out of digital sound! It’s the Power Supply The REFLink is a masterpiece of engineering in a full AC-powered e.One chassis using the same LNS (Low Noise Supply) as the DAC2.5. As lowered noise allows clocks to dominate the sound, the LNS dramatically lowers line noise with multiple stages of isolated power that drive individual sections of the circuit. The output clocks and line-drivers are powered by a separate low-noise power supply. The ST Fiber output the ultimate in isolation and high speed transfer for anyone with a Bel Canto 3.5VB Mk II or you can run SPDIF on BNC or AES/EBU to any other DAC for an experience you won’t forget! The REFLink features Dual Ultra-Low Phase-Noise Clocks and triple galvanic isolation. The adjustable display shows the incoming sample rate. It’s the Sound! The sonic impact of lowering noise to this degree is stunning; a highly organic analog-like presentation predominates. You’ll enjoy improved soundstaging and spatial positioning, fully-developed micro- and macro-dynamics that give music life, tighter, more controlled bass, a beguiling midrange and a sense of openness and air in the high frequencies that will put you in close contact with your music again and again! Bel Canto recommends Audirvana Plus, Pure Music or Amarra with iTunes for bit-perfect playback or JRiver Media Center on the PC.

  19. Item: QED Reference Audio Evolution Interconnects (1M pair) Location: Canberra Price: $110 + Postage Item Condition: Very Good Reason for selling: No longer needed, have moved to XLR. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Direct Deposit. Extra Info: I've been a fan of QED interconnects for quite a while. They do a lot right and very little wrong for a realistic amount of money. Build quality is very good, and value is excellent. The QED Reference Audio Evolution is probably the best value interconnect in QED's range, providing most of the performance of their top offering for less than half the price. Shielding is very good, so these are excellent in systems where power cables cannot be kept away from signal cables, or where switch mode power supplies are used. RRP in Australia is $249.
