The April 2013 meeting of the Sydney Audio Club sees us once again at Dence Park for an afternoon of fine music and sound and convivial company. Each month, the Sydney Audio Club presents the finest in high end audio systems for our members and guests. It's a bit like a private audio show once a month where you can hear and discuss equipment that you might not otherwise have the chance to audition. And you can bring along your own music to test the capabilities of the system or to just share with like-minded music lovers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. This month we will have a system comprising of NAD and Tannoy provided by Audio Products (refer to http://www.audioproducts.com.au/) and Len Wallis Audio (refer to http://www.lenwallisaudio.com/). We will also have Scott Collins (Audio Products Marketing Manager) and Himal Jekishan of Audio Products in attendance. For 40 years NAD has been regarded as a market leader in high quality affordable electronics. Today, whilst still producing excellent affordable models, NAD is now recognised around the world as the manufacturer of some of the world's most advanced digital audio products. At the club meeting, we will presenting its acclaimed Masters Series models. From the NAD Masters Series, Len Wallis Audio is kindly providing a M2 Direct Digital Amplifier (2 x 250W) which has received many awards and accolades including a ‘Product of the Year’ award from The Absolute Sound. (Refer to http://www.lenwallisaudio.com/products/amplifiers/integrated-amplifier/m2 and http://www.audioproducts.com.au/ProductInfo.aspx?pid=M-2). The M2 integrated amplifier will be driving a pair of Tannoy Definition DC8T’s which are the result of the refinement of over 80 years of audio heritage. The Definition series feature Tannoy’s Dual Concentric™ design which positions the tweeter at the centre of the cone to yield outstanding time coherence and true point source articulation with no energy loss through the crossover region. (Refer to https://audioproducts.com.au/ProductInfo.aspx?pid=DEFDC8TB) The main front-end will be a NAD C 546BEE CD Player (refer to https://audioproducts.com.au/ProductInfo.aspx?pid=C546BEEG). There will also be a NAD M51 Direct Digital DAC on hand (refer to https://audioproducts.com.au/ProductInfo.aspx?pid=M-51). The second half of the music sessions will be our popular BYO. Members and guests are welcome to offer music to share with us all. So bring along your favourite music on CD (or CD/SACD hybrid) or flash drives. Sorry, no vinyl this month. All we ask is that the music and recordings be interesting. We'll ask you to tell us a little about the artist/recording before it is played. Tracks over 6 minutes will be faded out, to give everyone a fair go. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned veteran, you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and share your experiences with others of a similar mind. Members and Guests welcome – we are a very friendly club so you don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound. We will welcome you at the door.
